Good Morning. It's Friday 13th December, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Leeds fans hit back at Carrick Leeds fans have hit back at Boro Boss Michael Carrick following his post match interview on Tuesday night. Whites fans have flocked to social media outlet 'X' to express their displeasure at comments Carrick made saying he thought his side deserved something from the game. Leeds ended up winning 3-1, and missing a hatful of half-chances to extend their lead further, though that's not to say the Smoggies didn't have opportunities of their own. After pulling one back (curtesy of a Wober own goal), Carrick's side went in search of an equaliser. They put the hosts under sustained pressure (at times) without carving open too many clear cut opportunities, thanks to a resolute Leeds defence. Aarronson's stoppage time strike was very much the cherry on the cake for Farke's men, with many believing a two-goal cushion flattered the Whites. The may have exacerbated the situation as far as Carrick was concerned, leading to his comments! please log in to view this image Are Leeds better prepared this time around The departure of key players last Summer (including Rutter, Summerville, and Gray), raised serious question marks as to whether Farke's team could maintain their competitive edge this time around, but with 41 points on the board from 20 games, they find themselves on target to finish their campaign on 94 points! Leeds have obvious weaknesses leading the line (and playmaker), but have invested smartly with Bogle, Tanaka, Rodon, Solomon (loan) and Rothwell (loan) creating strength in depth. They splashed out big on Ramazani, who if it hadn't been for his injury could be creating headlines by now. We must also remember that Wober and Arronson coming back must seem like new signings. Many feel that the board will need to fill the 9 and/or 10 role in January if the club are serious about promotion. We all know what happened last season. Have they learnt by their mistakes this time around? please log in to view this image Leeds linked to Villa starlet Leeds have thrown their hat into the ring for Aston Villa's talented forward Louie Barry, according to TEAMtalk. The 21-year-old winger has been turning heads with his incredible performances during his loan spell at Stockport, where he’s racked up an impressive 14 goals in just 19 League One outings. A host of Championship clubs including Leeds are ready to pounce after talk of Barry's loan spell at Edgeley Park being cut short in the New Year, so he can test himself at a higher level. Although only 21, this will be his 7th loan move since joining the Villains in 2021, proving the loan system works when used properly. please log in to view this image
Good morning ! feeling buoyant today so here goes - both us and Sheffield U have winnable games this weekend, while Burnley go to Naaarrritch and Sunderland to Swansea. so entirely possible there’ll be clear blue water between the 2 leaders and the chasers by Sunday. yes I know…….
Just throwing this out there @ellandback. Gray was nowhere near being a key player last season. Rutter, yes. Summerville, yes. Gray did a job for us. Bogle is an upgrade at right back. I will balance that out by saying Gray has a higher ceiling than Bogle but at this moment in time, Bogle makes us a much better side than Gray did last season.
I don’t disagree about the Archie comment, as to “key player” Emu, but feel a bit underwhelmed by Bogle so far, expected a bit more from him technique wise. I feel more comfortable when Byram plays.
It’s the hope that kills. With our away form (and it being the early kickoff) I’d say that this is a 50/50 game results wise.
Thought Bogle had a rough start but he gets through some graft and his attacking support is intrinsic to how we play. He gets better every time I see him play.
Bogle will run himself into the ground and covers alot of ground has so much energy still think he needs to improve on certain things ie last ball but I'd always have him in. But we have a unsung hero in our ranks as well in Sam Byram. a lad who carries a bit of baggage on the injury front. I'm fairly sure the club have to carry some machinery around for him each game to get his muscles working or whatever it does. The lad plays like its his last game never shirks a challenge which I love I hate footballers who bottle a 50/50 and for him its even more special with his injury situation. I think he deserves alot of plaudits on his commitment for the cause and the club. He will not bottle them 50/50 balls he always gives as good as he gets. the tackle he made in our last game which made the important 2nd goal really should be applauded as not many footballers would do what he done regarding his body situation and the lad can still play at this level. In my world and head Bammers and Joffy to go Jan and we replace both with a quality striker. It won't happen as they cost a lot and Jan isnt the window for shelling out big bucks as well as not knowing what league we are in next season. But Im sure there is a decent striker out there from the Prem or other top European clubs who isn't getting game time and would love a dabble on loan for the 2nd half of the season for a promotion push
