Better than we’ve been used to but still not great. Good to see the ball played out quicker but it does expose weaknesses in some of our players. Good to go in not behind though. UTT!
It could’ve been a different story all season if they could finish, Ernie. We might’ve been mid-table and Walter might still be in a job! I’ve never known a City team to be so profligate in front of goal.
Slater and Alzate have played well. Most of them have played well enough to be fair. Don't think Giles or Kamara have been that bad, both of which have had recent pelters. Macca is at least looking to play the ball progressively so fair enough in that regard. I honestly think Coyle needs a rest for a bit however. Too many attacks are breaking down with him and he's getting done at the back too easily as well. The one big difference at the moment is that we seem to have a bit of bite about us for the first time in a couple of years. It just comes across so much more clearly that the players are up for the battle and you can almost sense that they won't be pushed over so easily, literally and metaphorically. Hopefully this, paired with what seems like a more energetic press helps get us more on the front foot and taking the game to the opposition.

Coyle is the weak link in any team attempting to play possession football. He just doesn’t have the confidence or the ability to play quick vertical passes. Every time he gets the ball on the right he either runs blind into nowhere or he stands there gormless with his hands apart and then turns inside and passes back. It’s almost like he’s saying ‘I can’t make that pass, you need to get closer’ which says more about his ability than his teammates’. On the ball, he’s not at this level.
Jesus it's a tough audience tonight. There's been definite signs of improvement, more positive, moving the ball quicker, getting it forward sooner. It is showing up the limitations of some of the players, Longman the main culprit but Coyle also, and Slater needing three touches to get the ball under control. Giles needs someone behind him when he gets possession kicking him up the arse and yelling go forward. Pedro starting to show what a good player he might be if allowed to come and show for the ball. I'd like to see Puerta get a chance tonight, I think the more positive style could suit him.
Slater has done a lot of running. Not much else made a decent run late on but he is just so lacklustre out of possession
Maybe cos the malingering ****s know this is on them now Walter’s carried the can Now it’s on them isn’t it
