No problem with you disagreeing, but if a player is there and its going wide, I dont see why they should just stand and watch it go by. I do realise some of the more cynical teams would take advantage of that and just cross to an offside player. It wasnt the fault of Isiador, it was the **** header from 5 yards out that caused the problem
Then why have an offside rule. In fact let's do away with all the rules, make the gamer easier to understand.
Oooh, get you Name one person on this thread who said, get away with all the rules, go on have a guess.
That would be a real blow. And sad for fans not able to watch him. Another gem. Better than Mundle? I think probably yes.
Early days still but been massively impressed with him, played well beyond his age and experience recently, mundle must only be 3 weeks or so away now thought surely? Coventry game feels like months ago
Down to our last 2 wingers, Mayenda and Roberts who has some bug or other and not fully fit to play. Put that together with a visibly tired and below par Rigg and Jobe and we are light in midfield. Cirkin doesn’t look match fit, at least not 90 minutes. So many injuries. Hope Onien will be ok for Saturday. Our bench will be interesting. All that means we will probably go and win knowing us.
Try reading the message correctly.I didn't say any one had said that. I simply said if we ignore the offside rule to suit you why not ignore all the rules
Thought we looked a tad jaded last night. Part of me wonders why we dont use our squad and subs more but then RLB is doing a bloody good job so why knock him! What I do like is the mentality of the squad. Still think whether by design of fluke if we get the balance right and our forwards getting the correct balls in we can easily get to the play offs and possibly automatic promotion.
Was thinking the same. A real test over the next few weeks, I’d be over the moon to still be sat 4th come January.
Why dont you understand my comment? You are the only person who mentioned ignoring all the rules. Ok, I will make it simple for you, has anyone suggested it or mentioned it apart from you?
I’d be giving some serious thought to pushing Isidor out wide with Mayenda centrally. Think it would help with balance and allow more space for overlaps from lb. Think it would help Rigg out too.
A lot of good comments on this MDT regarding the game last night and interesting to see a bit more on RLB's deficiencies. I've said it previously, but I'm not a fan of RLB and I honestly don't think he will be the one to take us up. Credit where it's due and we have done well, currently being sat in 4th is great and we all would have taken that if offered it in the summer. However, as a lot of posters are picking up on, his lack of subs is the most glaring fault but also a lot of people are commenting on our poor 2nd half displays. This is my biggest issue with RLB, his game management is shocking and he doesn't adjust to opposition managers tactical changes or lets the game fall flat. A lot of managers are making changes at half time to counter our play and RLB is either far too slow to react or doesn't react at all. Subs are far too late, a lot of like for like replacements so more of the same and he just doesn't adjust his tactics quick enough or even at all. He's far too rigid and doesn't appear to have a plan B, again as a few posters have commented on. Out of interest, and remembering what was posted about Lorient fans thoughts on RLB when we appointed him, I have had a look at Lorient's form in his first season there, it's quite interesting and closely followed by SAFC this season (see below screenshots). After 20 games at Lorient, they had 35 points and we currently have 37. We've picked up 2 more draws, Lorient 2 more defeats. After that, their form crashed and they picked up 5 more wins from the remaining 18 games, 5 draw and 8 defeats. It looks like teams quite quickly figured out his game plan and countered it and he couldn't react, and it looks to be happening again with us. Obviously I haven't watched any Lorient games, don't know how he had them playing whilst there but the pattern is there for me. I hope he has learned from that season, and the subsequent relegation the season after but so far this season, the signs aren't looking good for me. Apologies for the negative post on RLB, maybe I'm just a miserable ****er but I've seen it for a while now and no plan B etc was also lobbied about Mowbray last season. It frustrates the hell out of me when fans around me at the match are all saying the same thing but RLB doesn't switch things up and just isn't proactive enough. I get he's a young coach still early in his career but he should be able to spot these things.
Definitely better through the middle but we’re missing right footers for that left wing role. Plus think we may benefit from a bit more of an obvious platform to play off up top. May just need a bit of time till injuries and form pick up a bit.
Yeah I saw them aleast 1 yard offside both of them The linesman thought because the first one never touched the ball he never noticed the second one off side aswell Moral of the story is Don’t just look at the last man Check the amount that’s offside That’s two offside goals against us in the last two games
