Are you judging a striker solely on duels won? I can accept some thinking he was poor but don’t think that’s the metric
It's part of it. 0 dribbles successful and 18 touches in the full game. It was a very very poor performance and probably the main reason why Bristol found it so easy. Offered absolutely nothing.
Hey, I thought you didn't like stats For me Bristol aren't a bad team and a decent defence. Some of ours looked out of sorts, Rigg and Jobe to name two. But still creating plenty. We just need to get more clinical in the final third. We're creating enough chances to at least score one at least. Their goal was a scrappy jammy affair. Even though we we're poor by our standards tonight I think we at least deserved the draw. Did enough to win it. Regis le Bris, clean a couple of spark plugs, we're not firing on all cylinders
I'm not sure on Isidor, no doubt there are gaps in his overall play but he's got top class quality at times and some absolutely top drawer finishing. Bit of an enigma. I wouldn't say he's been good lately but he's still been close to scoring and maybe just needs to poke one in to get some confidence. Overall game needs work but he's quite close to cracking it.
I think the last 2 games have been elite levels from Neil. All but carried the team. When we need someone to drive the game last 10 and pick us up he was everywhere. Something seems to have clicked again with him mentally, he is playing with real freedom again on the ball. His off the ball stuff has always been bang on for me, but his range of passing and the odd driving run are back at his former levels. Long may it continue. That is the standard he now has to maintain. Like you say if Jobe can get back to form we will dominate most midfields. Bristol City are no mugs in their CM positions, Knight in particular is a very good player.
Aim for 4 points nxt 2 games and we will be in a cracking place January is going to be massive for us, got to strengthen the squad
Neil showing experience he’s the only one midfielder who doesn’t look tired and he’s played almost every minute. class player on his game
Midfield. Wing. Fullback. need proper competition for Isidor I’m afraid I don’t think Connolly is going to cut it because I don’t think there’s enough in his game
Yeah just checked and that was Riggs 5th yellow card. Unless they’ve reset at some point he’ll be banned for the next game.
Aye he is 22 and has bag fulls of experience and built the physiological levels to be able to do it. Expecting 17 and 18 year olds to do it is simply incompetence.
Yep agree I can understand if RLB doesn’t think we’ve got enough yet (mind the two experienced midfielder depth we’ve got are injured) give us at least one more in jan then Browne is back and hopefully samed or a samed replacement
It's the chance creation problem again that is concerning me the most. We are creating plenty of half chances and getting into some great areas through some excellent build up play but how many proper chances are we actually creating? Not many at all. Jobe for as much as I love him is not a creative player, he's a defensive beast who recycles possession well. Rigg plays the more advanced midfield role but he's more of a goal threat than a creator. Mundle doesn't create a great deal as he's more of an inside forward and neither does Roberts really, he much prefers to be involved in the build up. Cirkin I guess as he gets to the byline a lot is a creator but Hume on their other side plays inverted and doesn't overlap much. We need some attacking help in January in the form of a creative player, whether thats a midfielder or a winger i'm not sure but we need something.
They spent 3m on the serb. If he can not replace Rigg on 70mins then not really sure where they view him. Just had to be given a fun. Or okay AA as an attacking CM. Anything us better than running the lads into the ground.
That’s why I think AA should step in for Rigg, he’s a creative 10 rather than a goal threat. We have lots of goal scorers with a lack of killer passers, our best is Dan neil playing the 6
