Just looked and we will miss him for tonight, Burnley, Sunderland and Millwall. First team back after his ban…QPR again
Sorry CS, but what I see on the posted video clip is Kenny throwing his arm back and catching the QPR player. It wasn't a case of Kenny just spreading his arm out wide to obstruct or impede the guy. And given that Kenny looked to see exactly where the QPR player was and what he was doing, I find it difficult to make a case for anything other than a deliberate action. Utterly stupid and exactly what the on-field captain shouldn't be doing, especially after incurring a previous 4-match ban.
Concerned about this, Barnes offered nothing as a lone striker last season. I don’t see that changing, hope I’m wrong!
I can see it both ways. The decision feels pretty harsh, the QPR player makes a massive meal of it and it’s totally overblown versus what we see in many matches, as well as inconsistent with the decision not to take any action as a result of Sainz getting smashed in the face (in a way which actually did damage). However, McLean has definitely been careless, he did that block without subtlety and dangerously, particularly given he’d just come back from a ban. I agree with the comments that his behaviour has been noticeably poor. I and others commented on the match day thread that he needed to calm down. He’s a total idiot and I am confident he has cost us multiple points with these actions.
If that’s your view Robbie fine, but we literally see it happen every week with nothing given in pitch or by retrospective committee. Is it worthy of a committee even looking at it? It’s not a headbutt or punch, he has not looked at him when the action happens so you can make a case that he had no idea where the other player was let alone to direct an elbow to his face
I slowed down the video and now see that the QPR man moved before Kenn's arm went up. Still no where near a 3(4) match ban. If the ref had seen it, I don't think he would give a red card.
We appear to be looking at more direct balls up to Barnes with the aim for him to flick on to Crnac running in behind
Didn’t look like a pen at all to me - the ball was already lost by Murphy to Nunez’s tackle, Nunez had the ball and then there was a coming together off the ball. Would be impossibly harsh to get a pen for that
Another twitchy / poor performance so far. Only created a single half chance in almost half an hour. Crnac's off the pace, Sorensón doesn't seem to be up to much. (edit: just got booked) Murphy's getting far too much joy against Stacey, not really tested Gunn...yet
Crnac has been putting himself a bit, and done some good things on the ball but has lost the ball several times cheaply
If we turn it on we will get something from this but need to step up. I think we’ve shown more fight than last game
