Ouch another tough away game at the stadium of light-:emoticon-0107-sweat

Against a side who have only lost one of their last six games -ouch

Bristol City only winning 2 of their last six games.

However we do seem to play better against the so called better teams and struggle against the so called lesser teams.

Sunderland sit 4th in the championship 3 points of top a great start to the season for them.
Bristol City sit 12th and are eleven points behind the Makems and six points of the playoffs.

I cannot see many Bristol City fans making a 10 hour round trip on a Tuesday night just before xmas.

Reference the game tomorrow night- if city turn up and play like they did down at Portsmouth we will get absolutely thrashed.

However i'm going down the road of we cannot play that bad again and i am expecting us to put on a performance and show some pride.
    Sunderland 1 -Bristol City 2

    Loving the optimism there RR.
I agree I don’t think we would be as bad as we were Saturday, but to go all the way up there with hardly any backing (fans) and take 3 points on a cold night in the north-east is highly unlikely.
I predict a hard fought victory for Sunderland, with us putting in a much improved performance but not strong enough to keep them out.
1-0 the home side. A bit like the Watford game.

Giving them the benefit of a bad day at the office.
However a showing like at pompey will lead me to serious questions of the gaffer.

Our total lack of consistency has been around for too many years and has been the same under several managers which leads me to believe that there's another fly in the ointment. Your guess as to who or what is causing us continuous grief probably has way too many components to stick your neck out in the blame game. My biggest concern is Liam Manning because after his family tragedy his head is surely in other more important places, such as with his wife and family members, and who can blame him for being possibly in a different space? Time will heal his deep wounds and for that to happen sooner rather than later he has to focus solely on what's important in his life. Good luck Liam for the future. :emoticon-0100-smile

They are supposed to be professional athletes I.e they do it for a living and are handsomely paid for it, and therefore they should have professional pride when they do a job that most of us would have killed for, irrespective of weather conditions or injuries to team mates
Every team has a bad day at the office occasionally
So Leeds or Burnley or Sheffield Utd might lose by the odd goal when they are expected to get a result, but we just rolled over and died at Portsmouth
And it’s not new. We did exactly the same at Derby, Blackburn etc

Which City are going to turn up tonight ? Let’s hope it’s the one that beat Plymouth 4-0 and not the one that was totally outplayed on Saturday. COYR

On my way back from Manchester tonight.
I have to say I’m absolutely knocked out by Manchester. What an amazing place.
I’ve been here 3 times before and it never fails to impress but this time was the best ever.
I’ll be listening to the scores as I drive down the M6/M5/A417.

True, feels like we’ve been chasing shadows for much of the time though.

It looks to me so far that if Sunderland play to their strengths we could be in for a second half of pressure and generally we are not good at that system. However we are still in the match but we need more fire up front and I just can't see what Armstrong brings to that requirement. It could be a game where we steal some points and that is my hope after the Pompey debacle but there are other less than exciting scenarios. Come on City get in the game and present those hardy souls who have made the long trip north travel home with good feelings because they are the ones who want it most. Away supporters. :emoticon-0137-clapp:emoticon-0137-clapp:emoticon-0137-clapp

Was no more a pen than the Yu one earlier on, both went down too easily.
