The results sequence does not suggest a decisive turnaround anytime soon. What we've seen with the CBs suggests he would risk player health to save his skin. And Sarr is infected with Bissouma-itus.
Ange is gone after this. Losing is one thing but in this manner after the awful run of results and something has to change. Spurs are far too easy to play against. Game over
I don’t like sacking the manager as it never seems to make any difference. But I’m really not sure where Ange goes from here. We are so weak and the way we play is having such a negative impact on the players and is leading to so many injuries. It may be time to just battle down the hatches and just play a pragmatic game and hope we can nick a few wins to get us a cup win. I’d take anything right now!
His record in London derbies is abysmal too. I’d probably say you can survive on mediocre seasons so long as you turn up in Derbies but this is 3 losses from 3 vs Chelsea, we’ve lost 2 out 3 vs Arsenal and just 1 win vs West Ham. Maybe my prediction of late Jan/ Feb will prove too late, it’s becoming hard to see Levy not reacting quicker now.
@Spurf @PleaseNotPoll @SpursDisciple one of you might as well delete the poll on the Ange thread, got a feeling I might be doing a new one soon
Whan Johnson was injured, the sensible move would have been to bring on Maddison and as a body in MF....but oh no...he's brings on passenger Werner.
Genuinely think it could happen tonight. Although his saving grace is the Rangers game and he’s got experience against them so might be safe for now. He looks out of ideas and out of his depth.
Rangers in the EL next. League cup QF against Man Utd looming. It really seems the Spurs gods are plotting Ange to be gone, doesn't it.
As you have said previously, it’s the style of play that is killing us. If you have a 22 man squad who are all capable of filling in without weakening the team, then you can potentially make it work. But we don’t have the players to do this. Our best players are constantly injured so we have no chance of competing with the best teams trying to play this way. Don’t get me wrong it’s an admirable way to try and play football and when it works it’s great to watch, but you can’t sustain it through a premier league season it’s just not possible
Last time Spurs lost this many league games at the beginning of a season was 2008/09 and we all know what happened then.
