Watched Puerta quite a bit yesterday. He’s busy but I’m not sure he’s much cop. Might be a loan that we can do without come January.
agree bit of a silly loan in my opinion, our recruitment was so laughably bad he's barely played any pro football, id send him back if we can too lightweight, no real impact what youd expect we cant have passengers from now on we have too many
Our whole midfield is too lightweight - with the possible exception of Palmer. Omur, Melhem, Puerta, Simons, Slater, Kamara - All too easily bullied off the ball. We need a couple of hard nosed b'stards in there
Not sure our squad is mid table, if the old brucie saying of -you’re only as good as your strikers is correct , then we are not very good .
What has Puerta actually done? His first touch is poor at times, he doesn’t carry the ball forward much, he’s not that press-resistant when deeper. I have no idea what type of midfielder he’s supposed to be.
On a side note. I’ve accepted that relegation is the likely outcome. It’s going to be a season we talk about as a great escape like season if we do somehow stay up. To that point. If we look decent and put up a fight I hope regardless we stick by Sellés. A bit of continuity for once would go a long way to stopping the rot. Even if that is in League One
That is a tall order did not realie the task in front of Selles was so big. I have a lot of confidence in the guy but thats a mountain to climb.
Yes. If it was difficult to get a decent striker in the summer its going to be even harder to get one in the upcoming window.
Given what some of what Readings players have said about Selles then maybe some of their better players can be persuaded to come to a team that may end up in the same League as they are in now.
Strange comment when I've always looked at the stats. In fact during our 3 game winning run when everyone was gloating about Walter being the right man after all I was pointing out we'd had 19 shots on target in 3 games and the opposition had also had 19 shots on target and that maybe the results were a blip. Are you suggesting that we should have kept Walter?
Well so much for that I read that a clause wa inserted in Selles contract that does not allow City to poach any of Readings players. Its on X so no idea whether its true.
The fact that a team coming 6th felt the need to shut up shop against the side sat bottom of the table says a lot.
It was also down to macca trying to clear it with the outside of his left boot as he is incapable of using his right foot. It was ****e all round defending.
And this is where you have to feel for Walter Obviously only the rosenior bummers won’t. The signing of all this midfielders late on yet we still had to get alzate when the window closed who was not fully fit!! **** show x clusterfuck The same with the forwards Burstow and bedia and the proposed mega signing that didn’t happen **** show So we scrabble around after the window closes to get Pedro 7 games into the season A bloke clearly unfit who is doing his best but isn’t good enough now it’s a ****ing disaster
If the worst comes to the worst, will Acun stand there and say its all my fault, is he that big, or will he just take what he can finance wise and do one.
Not at all. Derby, Pompey, Oxford and Luton were all games we had much better xG then the opposition yet you were on here saying how bad the performance was, same thing happens yesterday and they’re unlucky in your eyes. This goes back to my point of some people never wanting to see him succeed. They were vindicated because the bloke was a grade A ****.
What we need is technically good but also a dynamic midfielder that will gel gameplay of team, such a player will make other guys around him better by connecting them, similar to Rodri of Man City, but at our level. A very good example that Norwich lad switched to Gala this summer, put Norwich one level above and doing same in Turkey. So far we always had one-sided midfielders like Seri who is technically gifted or Slater on opposite side. Instead of investing in old guys who retired from football in their mind, and even before wing backs and wingers, invest heavily in spine of the team, a center-back, a midfielder, a striker. That's what we need in winter window.
