The amount of money involved in transfers means that full medical history will be one of the basic requirements for a transfer... especially an injured player. Not to mention some of the medical records will come from independent specialists that have been involved in past injuries, plus reports from the existing club and also the buyers own specialist team.

Southampton took a risk, they knew they were taking a risk with the type of injury. Sounds like a load of bollocks or someone at the club involved in the signing is getting stick for taking the risk and trying to deflect which is a dangerous game to play.

If there was any truth in it then legal proceedings would have started a while ago...or it will backfire and they'll be done for making **** up.

the premier league is a horrible place when you are not 'safe', ross stewart had everything southampton wanted with his height and running, they took a chance on him knowing they would be sitting on a bargain if he recovered fully and lets face it, 10m is not a lot in todays market.

do i feel sorry for them?...nope, been there and looked for excuses just as they are.

Understandable but the reality is they just aren’t good enough, very few promoted teams will be sadly

True, a few mega rich clubs are dictating the agenda based purely on greed rather than the game as we once knew and loved it . In a perverse sort of way its a pity that the accountancy driven European Super League or whatever they called it , had no legs, as I don't think it would have lasted 5 years tbh.

    Agree with that mate.

In my opinion Stewart is great in the Championship but not suited to the PL where there are few players like him.

Only Chris Wood and Haaland come to mind and I don't think he's as good as either tbh.

Leicester look like only ones that have a chance of staying up realistically

What got me was that, prior to that, he was fit as a fiddle. Never missed a training session. Pity for the lad from a football perspective, but I’m glad he’s got a contract he can make the most for himself to live on!

IF you mean Stubbs, I think he was a free transfer.

But otherwise, yours is a fair comment.

It's a shame for the lad, I remember being staggered that Mowbray had played him down at Shrewsbury in the second round so soon after his return from the injury he sustained at Boro, he scored one of our two late goals down there to get us through. Mowbray then played him again in the Fulham game which was again a strange decision when we were in contention for the play-offs and he's played so much football since his return at Hull.
    The rest is history unfortunately.

It's happened before and it will happen again. It doesn't matter how many physical examinations take place, the body is a complicated melange of moving parts which often can be unpredictable. It's why these clubs take out expensive insurance policies to try to hedge against the financial risks of the contracts they're entering into.
I liked Ross when he was with us and it's sad to see how events have unfolded for him so far,but nobody twisted Southampton's arm.

That has given me a vision of Speakman and KLD, wearing a SS uniform goose stepping into St Mary’s saying “we have ways of making you buy our player”.
