Palmer - he's the only player we have who looks close to being a game changer.

Hughes - he's the only defender we have who actually looks good enough to be in a top half Championship team.

Longman - he's the only attacker we have who has the pragmatic nous needed at this level.

Unfortunately as many times as Slater might have won the ball , his inability to trap a ball cancelled them out . I’ve said before take him aside on the training ground and pass him throw him the ball to kill it fir an hour after every session or during until it doesn’t bounce off him - or - get him to understand he has to stop the ball before moving - he rushes .

Palmer - had my reservations before the last couple of games but now that he’s being played in a 10 role, he looks so much better.
Hughes - still got a mistake in him but he’s better than the other two by some distance.
Alzate - looks a player, if he can stay fit.

Just hope Selles can work his magic quickly to turn around the mentality at the club. So many seem to have had their confidence in themselves and their team mates totally shot.

I aee on WHosScored that Longman was rated the highest of any of our players so its hard to see why he would be taken off. Thought he was playing ok.

I thought the whole team was pretty crap in that respect with many of our passes missing their make because of a failure to control the ball on reception.

Yes I would not argue with that . Unfortunately we are now in a rut of form . No confidence, no luck , no leadership on the pitch . Hopefully Ruben can instil a positive vibe into the squad and a clean sheet mentality until he can shake up the squad in January.

    Alternative Top 3

    1) Ref and Linos
    2) The wind for nearly blowing the ball backwards when their keeper hoofed it out
    3) The attendance announcer...

I thought we played ok in patches, especially in the first half, we just don't carry enough of a threat up front, and I'm not sure how we solve that with the players we have available currently. Just need to see if we can start grinding out a few points over the next few weeks, even if it's not pretty.

Five points for first choice, three for second, one for third.

    Palmer 203
    Hughes 97
    Slater 14
    Longman 14
    Alzate 8
    Kamara 7
    Giles 7
    Bedia 6
    Burstow 3
    Mcloughlin 1

Palmer could become the beating heart of this team. A strange decision to withdraw him on Saturday; let's hope that he's fresh and raring to go this evening.

I suspect that may have been the reason for withdrawing him.
