I think his foot work is quality until he takes a shot.

Also not having much of a forward line doesn’t help.

    2 assist
Pretty sure we've rattled the woodwork more than actually bulging the net in the last 8 or so games.

There is an event of bad luck involved in some of the results, but then you make your own luck and the table doesn't lie after 20 games.

So here’s my take on today, **** me it was cold, the food was top draw as was the larger. The football was another matter altogether, ****ing crap. There was a point in the second half where we had 3/4 players a yard from the ball, it was virtually on the penalty spot and we dithered so ****ing much they cleared it away. I mean it was as if we waited for them to clear the ****er. I was literally in line with the ball in the west stand. Bedia was in on goal and skied it almost over the roof, did not have to take the ****ing skin off the ball, just get it on target. Kamara’s shot was so ****ing laid back it was as if he was sat on his couch, now that was a time to take the ****ing skin off, my god I could score from there, 1 million per cent Belloumi scores from there, he’d of lifted it over the keeper, that is the difference in class. They were no great shakes but their build up play for the goal was way better than ours and that was the difference between the teams. I like the look of Alzate, now he looks a player from the little I’ve seen, also Burstow needs more of a run out, I liked what I saw when he came on. Why the **** palmer was hooked and not slater is a mystery I’ll never understand, how anyone can watch that game and make that swop beggars belief, all attacking intent went out the window when he went off. Him and Alzate I think would work well together. My god the wind blowing through the concourse was literally cutting you in half, I was still shivering two hours after I got home. Stayed right till the last second, my 8 year old step grandson did the same shame on you those that didn’t, if a ****ing 8 year old can you can… Health and safety wouldn’t let them do the flag waving so we’ve got the last home game of the season, really hope we don’t need a win to stay up then, one to get us in the playoffs would be nice, will have to see if Santa gets me my Christmas wish lol. Food was amazing, beer excellent, weather and footy ****ing crap… we live to fight another day… good night and god bless all… up the tigers

Have they been given the autonomy and confidence to do that though?

It was a valid criticism of Rosenior, yet Walter seems to have been a yet even more prescriptive, far more rigid influence on the first team squad.

We just look devoid of confidence individually as well as collectively at the moment.

It's generally been regarded as wisdom that it's a good sign when you play poorly and still grind out a win.

Unfortunately we are in a position where we can play well, but still inevitably lose.

And that's how it goes when you're at the bottom of the division.

The biggest challenge for Selles is a mentality shift. And it's not going to be an easy one to achieve.

Don't disagree just think his footwork makes him a viable option as he can hold up the ball as well as work his way through a press reasonably well. Agree his finishing is pretty awful though.

Not to be a Danny Downer, but for us to survive we're probably going to need 12-13 wins from the next 27 games. Which means winning at least every other (as in, at least half of the remaining ones) game we have left.

    Over to you, Ruben.

I think Acun has been incredibly naive about just how bad a spot we were in under Walter.

Games in hand for the teams above us is a bit of a concern too.

Had Walter gone after Oxford, we'd have had a better shot.

It's not hyperbole to say we're in deep ****. We need about 37 points from 27 games having gained 15 points from 19 games. Boy is this going to have to be some turn around and trust me, I'm here for it, but it's going to take a herculean effort to do it.

I'm still shocked he didn't go at that point. QPR and Portsmouth now showing signs of life is a big concern.

We really have to get out of this mindset of keeping the ball going backwards and forwards along the back line.

Unless we start to move the ball quicker, teams have time to get behind the ball, so even when we do finally get it into the final third, they are set and again the ball just goes sideways, or we end up shooting from outside the box which either gets blacked or saved.

I guess the above is partly a legacy of Liam's time and then carried on with TW. Hopefully, Selle's will coach this out of them, and drill them into pressing higher and moving the ball quicker from back to front.

As far as the game went, pretty much the same as previous games, I thought first half we did look a bit better organised, but second half we just huffed and puffed.

Palmer closely followed by Hughes I thought had the best games, and taking Palmer off, who looked the most likely to either score or set someone up, was a strange decision.

I think Burstow should be getting a start now, he did okay when he came on and looks more effective than both Pedro and Bedia. It will be interesting to see whether Ruben's looks at the U21's, as at Reading he did that to good effect.

Alzate, once he got into the game, looked good, hopefully he will begin to get starts, as he obviously has quality on the ball.

We certainly miss Belloumi and Millar, as Kamara looks as if he needs a bit of time out to build his confidence, maybe Jarvis would be a better bet for a few games?

We really need to start picking up points as things are beginning to look a bit dire, fingers cross Ruben can start to sort things out.

The thing that gives me confidence is that Selles does not leave Reading to manage us if he isn’t promised signings in January, so it should happen.

Plus Acun knows he messed up in the summer, not that he will admit it, so he should be keen to put that right and restore his reputation.
