Good Morning. It's Friday 6th December, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

    Wober swap deal mooted

Talks between Leeds and RB Saltzburg regarding Max Wober have just got interesting, with a swap deal being mooted, according to journalist Graeme Bailey, talking exclusively with LeedsUnited.news.

Wober's tenure has been littered with disappointment and controversy since joining the Whites almost two years ago, but there's no doubting his ability. He's a regular Austrian International, very capable at both centre half, and left-back. What he lacks in pace, he more than makes up in positioning and tackling ability.

There's no doubt that the Whites would be able to recoup to £10m they paid for him, but given his versatility, should an offer be entertained. Leeds have adequate cover at centre-back with Guilavogui, Ampadu (when fit) and Debayo all qualified whilst Schmidt and Byram are cover for Junior Firpo.

According to Bailey, even if Wober stays, given the partnership Leeds have with the Red Bull network, we could very easily see players from Leipzig or Saltzburg loaned to the Whites next month during the Winter transfer window!

“We are told that Leeds, now part of the Red Bull network, are in regular contact and as part of those talks, there was talks about Wober and a potential loan to Salzburg. Wober is concerned about his lack of game time but Leeds generally think he has a big part to play.

“We are told that conversations are continuing, and even if Wober does not leave – we could very well see players arriving at Elland Road from elsewhere in the Red Bull network.”

Rams boss leaps to Farke's defence

During his pre-match presser, Derby boss Paul Warne expressed shock that Daniel Farke's favourability at Elland Road is wavering.

The Leeds Manager has found himself under scrutiny this season as criticism mounts regarding his approach to substitutions, set-piece execution, and not having a plan B. Despite boasting the strongest and most expensive squad in the Championship, his decision making has raised eyebrows among the Elland Road faithful.

Failure to effectively counteract defensive setups such as the low block has resulted in dropped points and frustration among supporters who expect more given the quality at his disposal; yet Warne, a seasoned professional both as a player and Manager has leapt to Farke's defence saying:-

“I can’t believe he’s under any pressure at all…& if they did get rid of him I don’t know who they’d suggest to get in who could do it any better…. I think they’re a great a team. It’s the toughest place to go in the league.”

Morning all. Not convinced on the Wober issue at all. Think like Bamford he’s a luxury soaking up huge amounts of wages that we can’t afford. If anyone is willing to stump up 10m then get rid of As for replacing Farke <laugh><laugh><laugh>

Nothing as he was never interested in managing in the championship. Oh and he’ll still be on his big fat paycheque from Chelsea.

Potter was my pick before we appointed Heckingbottom, when Potter was still managing in Norway Sweden.

I am sure that he will probably be a disappointment should he ever be appointed at Leeds, but hey I've stuck with this opinion for nearly 8 years, and even after his failure at Chelsea, nothing has changed my mind.

Sorry to be pedantic but it was Sweden not Norway, he was also at Leeds Carnegie prior to that.

    aha no problem Este.

I'll rely upon the fact that I'm pumped full of painkillers at the moment for my momentary memory mishap :)

Burnley dropped 2 home points tonight, drawing with Boro. If it’s not been commented on.

Sheffield play Sunday so we can go top again tomorrow

Good to see Notts Forest win away, albeit against one of the lesser teams in the Prem
