It's alright Daws saying we just need one to go in - but for me we really don't look like scoring. 2nd half today their keeper had nothing of note to do. The most problematic thing he had to deal with was his own kick that go caught in the wind!
We desperately need 2 strikers in January

Is there some force either side of the pitch attracting our players? Everyone runs sideways.

I think the hope was he'd become a £15/20 million player (Man City wanted him at one stage) and they'd sell and pay the sell on ....

I hope Giles is given a run of games now. I thought he had a decent game within a team bereft of confidence. I don't hold him responsible for the goal either like some do. Coyle failed to prevent the cross first of all and Giles had to make sure he could block the shot so it was a lot to ask for him to stick with the Blackburn player after he dummied and took it wide.

Realistically it serves everyone to get him playing and getting some assists otherwise his value will continue to plummet when it's clear theres a player in him. He will make mistakes like every player on the pitch but he's pounced on for everything, even the way he waves his hands.

Just about dried out now. Depressing match in that Blackburn players really didn’t seem technically any better than City, but worked much better as a team.

Don’t know what’s going on with Kamara but his body language was not that of someone wanting to impress the new boss. He didn’t get many balls passed to him in the first half but then he didn’t put his arm up for them either. It really contrasts with Millar, who constantly gives the impression of a greedy bastard wanting the ball all the time. Can’t help but compare to Ebiowei who again looked as it he was a good player when bothered but only played well for whichever half of the match he played on the west half of the pitch in front of the dugout.

Alzante did a post match interview on Humberside, sounded very downbeat and unconfident.

Considering the appalling conditions today and our current situation and lack of any success at home this year I thought our crowd were 'up for it'.
it was an ordeal just to go to the game today, so to say they were 'not up for it' when they have made the effort to get themselves to the stadium is not on. I spoke to one fella when I got off the bus at 6.30pm, freezing cold and shivering, who still had a two hour drive home in front of him. If that's not being 'up for it' i don't know what is.
Get yourselves there on Wednesday night.

Enough already. These comparisons between Kamara and Ebiowei are just thick. Malcolm was lazy, his mind clearly drifted out of the game all the time and when he did get the ball he tried things he clearly wasn’t capable of doing. Kamara is a really capable team player who is short on confidence. Absolute chalk and cheese.

Bedia gets too much ****. He’s not great but he’s not awful, and the best we’ve got with our back to goal. He’s short on confidence like everyone else in the team, but until we sign a striker who’s good enough, he’s the best we’ve got.

It’s the same story every week. We can keep the ball more than most teams in this league, but it doesn’t mean anything if we’re not doing anything productive with it.

Until we sort this out, have players who will grab the bull by the horns and try and actually score/create a goal by doing something different (Palmer is the only one doing this at the minute), we will continue to lose most games.

We were let off last season pi55ing about with the ball because we had some quality individuals. And even then we underachieved and should have made the top 6.

I fear Ruben Selles is a ‘possession manager’ also. I hope I’m wrong.

I am pleased with how Reading fans feel about him though. He’s clearly a people person and that is one of the things this squad desperately needs.

Hopefully we’ll see a braver performance on Wednesday. UTT.

Only positive about next season is that the world famous Humber Derby might be back....

That’s surely a miss quote from Eustace, missing out the “I dodged a bullet with interest from Hull City for their managerial position?”

Anyway, Tigress’s tuppence; that was a poor, long, cold, wet, performance. Same old, huff & puff, some reasonable possession, mostly in our own half, we’re bereft of ideas, confidence and/or quality in final third, no ideas, impotent in front of goal, no creative make up in midfield. We just never look like scoring. Blackburn in possession moved at pace, an error by us, one chance & score. No one really covered themselves in glory today, Kasey Palmer the only one who got stuck in, and he got hooked?? Kamara akin to Malcolm. Admittedly, weather conditions not great, and didn’t help, but overall poor.

Ruben has certainly got his work cut out. Come January, he needs to be ruthless, cutting loose some of the slack to bring in some not tarred with the past, a more creative midfield link up, and reinforcement upfront.

That’s it for now from a soaking wet tigress, now home, fed & wined, and Strictly unavailable.

I noticed there were no dodgy pitch side adverts for anything in Turkey…no dentistry foreign exchange property or betting…something is happening.

Heard that. Bizarre interview....That Mike White on Blunder is to Burnsy, what Fanny Craddock was to her pissed up partner Johnnie.

I thought Giles put some dangerous crosses in today and I'm sure the new coach will have been taking notes. He certainly wasn't the worst player on the pitch by a long chalk. The goal was a fluke and Blackburn must be doing somersaults all the way back home for grabbing all 3 points

We are wasteful in front of goal and that's going to take a monumental task to change.Hopefully this new lad can install some belief into the team as we really do need wins from somewhere,if we simply function up until the transfer window we could find ourselves several points adrift and targeting strikers who simply won't want come here due to a serious threat of relegation...

We've got a new coach,we're all backing him, hopefully he can weave his magic.

I can think of a few things I could’ve been doing today other than freezing my bollocks off watching that ****e. Really debating whether to go on Wednesday. Only reason to go is to get behind the new manager in his first game.

I think ‘well drilled’ is a term used when the result goes in their favour.

In reality, they conceded too many chances and didn’t create anything, getting lucky with a poor cross.

Had they gone away with a 3-1 defeat, which the arguably deserved, then it goes from ‘well drilled’ to just poor.
