Every time I see Matt Gill on the screen he has that “1000 yard stare” that you associate with trauma victims.
Not sure if it’s the way we play football or listening to RM whinging in his ear.

I'm still of the view that it is simultaneously too late and too early to sack him.

Too late, because I can't see any manager being able to save us now. I struggle to even see us getting up to 19th.

Too early, because 23 matches is a long stretch before we get to next season. I know some people on here disagree, but I think any manager who comes in and oversees 23 matches and a relegation would struggle to turn it around next season. Sure we might well see some green shoots, but 23 games is just too many. I'm convinced that a clean slate would be needed next season. Whereas if a new manager only oversees, say , 8 to 10 games this season, then I think they potentially could continue onto next season.

If it is true, and I'm not saying it is, it does seem unlikely, but if it is he should be immediately sacked.

I’ve been saying for a while that once he has taken us down we should bring in a new manager as he (the new guy) won’t then have the responsibility of relegation on his shoulders. This would give him time to get used to the squad, work out who needs to go and give him a say in the summer transfer window.
I haven’t changed my mind on that.

As fans that dedicate our time and money supporting this club, I think we really to need make a stand now. We have been far too nice (or delusional?). Everyone in the stadium next Sunday needs to protest against this ***t manager and SR. What is the alternative? We just sit and put up with it for the rest of the season like we're being taken for mugs? I believe any other club would have sacked this manager some games ago.

I'm just so fed up with it all :emoticon-0108-speec

I would only agree with this if there was even minimal signs of progression and development but there just isn’t. There is a scenario here where get a new manager and still go down but there are signs of a system in place and confidence in developing in key areas of the pitch.

With Martin there is sweet **** all of that. None is going anywhere, if we keep him it’ll just be the same **** every week with toxicity building in the stands. It’s the fans fault apparently we conceded today! I imagine that’s gonna get a great response at St Mary’s. Plus what happens next year? He keeps the same style, squeezes by again too promotion and and we’re back here again in two years?

The worry here isn’t just the performances. It’s the absolute lack of any plan B our adaptation mid game. There are no bonuses to keeping this manager.

Appoint an experienced championship manager, Mark Robin's is out of work, or just a caretaker for the remainder of the season?
I still would go for Moyes, if he wanted the job. But Martin has to go now.

I don't disagree with any of your anti-Martin sentiment.

But I struggle to see your scenario where a new manager takes charge of 23 games in a manner where we still lose a great many of them, but are happy for said manager to continue next season.

Say that a new manager wins 5 out of 23. Sure that is a better average return than 1 out of 15. But it's still very poor. Will that really bring confidence and belief? I struggle to see it personally.

We can still salvage something from this season with a cup run or an upturn in form but I can't see that happening with this manager, it's too far gone. Take the financial hit and get a new man in and give the fans some hope at least.
