Did you make an honest woman of Mrs Two in Gretna? Dumfries? They probably remember the carnage we used to cause at the annual 'Wickerman' festival...
Nope. We've travelled far and wide but never visited Scotland, the nearest we got was five years ago when our daughter booked us a night in Alnwick, (on the way up) three nights in a cottage on Tayside, followed by two night in Edinburgh then two nights in Glasgow, a broken leg put paid to that. You really should try and get up to Tayside,it's stunning,Edinburgh you'd like,Glasgow,I'd look after you and get you well oiled...
Heading over to Thailand for Christmas,a few nights in Bangkok than down the south of the country to Khaolak for a couple of weeks .We have never been here before so any tips or must do’s appreciated .Not interested in lady boys ,sex clubs or anything like that thanks.
There's a Londoner named Darren John, on YouTube, that went for the first time earlier this year, he liked it so much he's selling up here and moving there this very week. He has two channels, one for food and the other for travel. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Bangkok • Cash is king in Thailand! • Khao San road for a crazy street full of bars, it doesn’t start getting lively until around 4pm and it’s very loud. (It’s near some great sights too - The Grand Palace, Wat Phra, Wat Arun, Emerald Buddha) • The river taxi is a cool way to get around. • MBK centre for all the knock off clothes, shoes, bags. • Use Grab it’s their version of Uber. • Asiatique night market is really nice at sunset, it’s on the riverfront. The best night market IMO is the Train Night Market Srinagarindra but it’s pretty far out from the centre but has so many food options and lots of retro cars. • If you’re in Bangkok on a Saturday you can visit Chatuchak which is the worlds biggest market. • Affordable rooftop bars: Brewski, Octave, Above 11, Pastel Rootop Bar, Vanilla Sky. • Fancy rooftop bars: Tichuca Rooftop Bar. Khao Lak I’ve not been to Khao Lak but my tip would be get a bucket full of Chang and chill on the beach, don’t be afraid to try the family run restaurants that’s where the best food is.
Short break in Scotland booked, a stopover in Galashiels for a night then 5 days along the east coast. 6 hour plus drive there did not sound like fun so broke up the journey for £89. First day will be Edinburgh, then along the coast, Carnoustie, St Andrews etc. Mrs red wondered why so many golf courses are on the way, it’s Scotland luv lol. Leaving on 21st may, before that a week in Spain on my own at my daughter’s place to watch the kids while she goes on a cruise. Cannot f-in wait, sick to my back teeth with all this cold weather…
