If we can win this then things will be looking good again, these are the games we need to turn up in not just against the top sides, however Brentford are good at home.
They've been here before..it's becoming a trait to fluff their lines and Brentford are good at home. The encouraging thing is that Brentford get fwd and have a go which is exactly what not to do vs our lot.
Interesting, Brentford are exceptional at home and utter dogshit away. Well stats are there to be broken I guess....
Only dilemma for me is the RW - not convinced by Barnes, definatley not Murphy imho, Almiron is now a cup player and being phased out of the squad. Honestly think the best option would be potentially be Willock?
Barnes will be sold in January hopefully.. he doesn't fit into the side and the money they'll get will strengthen an area more in need. It's unfortunate for Barnes, but Gordon is and will always be ahead if him on the left... I'm sure he'll still end up at a decent enough club.
Think Barnes is a wonderful LW and probably on of the top 5/6 "replacement" (second choice) wingers in the league. As back up/rotation for Gordon I'd be happy with them both there for 10 years.
Pope Liv Schar Burn Hall Bruno Tonali Willock Gordon Isak Joelinton Big Joe and little Joe doing the swap thing they do.
We won those three games (Chelsea, Arsenal, Forest) with them swapping and Gordon on the right. Of course Gordon is better left wing than right, but because we didn't sign a right winger for about the 58th season he is better there than Murphy and Almiron.
And i don't think Joelinton is better in centre mid than LW anyway, he isn't tidy enough on the ball, look at the other night, and Bournemouth away, goals directly from his sloppy passes. He's a battering ram and better going forward, we don't want him on the ball near our own box, that's where we want Tonali.
