You've missed the point. Stoke City had a reputation for being effective from long-throws, set pieces and playing 'hoofball' whilst being a defensive side. This comparison of being like Stoke City is asinine because we dominated you in general play and generated so many corners because we were forcing you back. Outside of set-pieces being a strength for us, that's the only valid parallel to draw. Yes, Odegaard being out impacted us and we should have found ways to cope without him. That's on the manager for not finding a solution. But to label us as Stoke City, when we've scored a variety of different goals over the past 4 games since the November International break, is disingenuous. We can play in a variety of ways. We can play stylish football and we can do the ugly stuff, too.

Most people acknowledge that Eddies Howe is doing a good job at Newcastle but this is an unpredictable season. The constant International breaks and the extra European games may well be playing a part but in Newcastle's case they don't have Europe and still they are as inconsistent as Spurs.
