Yeah the atmosphere of a new ground will never compare to the old one purely because of the way they're built. Was just saying we didn't go down immediately and actually improved initially. I love old stadiums. Much preferred WHL to their new ground and Goodison is probably my favourite larger ground in the country. Will be sad to see it go but delighted we're playing the last ever fixture there - was one of my main reasons for renewing my season ticket
Goodison Park loomed large in my early life. Literally, as I lived in one of the streets between Goodison Road and City Road until I was 22. When I was a sprog we'd go in when they opened the gates in the second half and then run round on the pitch after the game - imagine that these days Both my dad and uncle were Blues so they obviously wanted me to follow suit. First game they took me to was a derby game and being an awkward little sod I went for the Red team. It's also where I first explored the entrepreneurial exercise of a "mind yer car please sir?" scam.

Thanks. I don't go on the match thread until after the game but I usually look on it for date and time. I notice now that it's been updated to Saturday but no date Does this come under the category - 'you had one job to do'? (obviously I know the date)

That's a good approach to take. Not so good if you're arranging to meet someone and all you tell them is the time but not the date
Still, we're 12 points ahead of 5th place in early December. Pretty well nailed-on for Top Four at least. No league won yet by a long chalk, but I thought in Slot's first season we'd still be fighting to secure 4th place in May - reasons to be cheerful, part 4.
all 12:30 Ko's in PL are on a Saturday and since we are playing every mid week and weekend until after Christmas i thought the date was fairly obvious not that i know what the date is since i retired
