Well, that's the first time I've really seen RM start to get the wrath of the crowd at St. Mary's. He went to clap the Northam at the final whistle, was met with loud boos and lots of shouts for him to go, '****ing embarrassing Martin' etc, and suddenly turned on the edge of the centre circle and headed for the tunnel instead Glad I sat through a 3hr drive for that one. Sat nav did not acknowledge the road works at Wisley interchange and packed me off to Leatherhead, creating a 30 min detour. Jogged down Britannia Road in the spitting rain as the teams walked out. Unfortunately I only missed the first 2m 40s of the game, though
It's like it's not even the same player. I can't even imagine him scoring in the championship based on what we've seen so far. Albeit he's not played a single minute as a striker yet. Even when there isn't one on the pitch.
That second especially was a farce, but that was down to the game he was being asked to play. The players should be able to engage brain enough to know when a pass is on or not, but pretty much every goalkeeper and defender in our team has made this error under RM now. He had an evening of both extremes, dross for those goals but also pulled off a handful of worldy saves.
I've said before that I'm no longer prepared to blame players for conceding goals from mistakes from playing out constantly. It's on the manager for asking players to consistently do something they're neither good enough to do and comfortable doing.
I know I said it last night but that Sugawara for Archer sub might just be the worst I've ever seen. And there's been some healthy competition for that this season.
So he didn't even have the balls to face the crowd. If only he showed the same bravery as his players.
