Now we have nearly got this **** run of fixtures out of the way we could get a promising Championship manager in for next season, give him a few games to evaluate the squad and give him two transfer windows to prepare for next season as well as half a season in the Premier League to establish himself at the club. Hopefully will give him insight into the PL that could be valuable when we hopefully return, unlike RMs blatant disasterclass football which nearly all of us thought would fail at PL level before this season. Of course it could be a disaster, but we appear to have endless patience these days and all they would have to achieve in the second half of the season is to get results out of the comedy tier.
Nonsense. Practically any current Championship manager would jump at the chance. Even if we go down they will have a decent squad next season and bigger budget. Also they get to prove themselves in the Prem for 6 months. And of course we'd pay them more that their current salary.
God I pray there isn’t such a defeatist attitude in the boardroom. How is just resigning to defeat in December the only option? There is absolutely a scenario where we get a manager who, heaven forbid, doesn’t play suicide ball every week and actually knows and adapts to their players strengths and weaknesses. Gets the team in a form where they’re hard to beat and snatch a few 1-0, 2-1s, confidence builds and we’re only another win to match 17th. The issue is quite clearly a manager who doesn’t know his squad because he keeps trying to get them to play in a way that they are literally unable to against teams that are too good. Just take that guy out of the equation and replace him with someone about more tactics savvy and hungry for a premier league opportunity then even if that goes to **** you can at least go down saying you tried.
If I was performing anywhere near as badly as him at my job, I’d have been sacked ages ago. And I work for myself…
I wouldn't put it past them thinking that was genuine excitement and support for possession football.
Just sent to the HR department. I actually think this will tip the balance. Get excited everyone. It's happening.
This is the Championship table when Danny Rohl took over at Sheffield Wednesday. He kept them up that season. They're now twelfth (and form table since then has them fifth).
Ah got you. I would certainly be keen on him if or when we sack Martin. Assuming we go down, I think we'd come straight back up fairly easily with him in charge.
I'd get him now. This minute. Yesterday. A week ago. A month ago. At the start of the season. SOMETHING!
I might even email the club, as they seem to be so staggeringly incompetent, they probably haven't even thought of him.
Just looked at the thread title. Can we change it? "The Russell Martin debate thread" No debate really. He's **** and deluded. "The Russell Martin is **** and Deluded Thread" has a good ring to it.
More Rohl from one of our exes. It's so blindingly obvious, which is why Danish Jesus won't do it. https://www.sheffieldwednesday.news...-wednesday-boss-would-become-a-great-manager/
