This bloke could blow up the stadium and still not get sacked.
Tonight was an embarrassment as normal. Getting a 3rd division GK to pass it around at the back to an at best mid championship back 4, and conceding a 9th goal this season by passing to the opposition in our own area. (10 is the record in a full premier league season).

RM is like an international top order cricket batsman who keeps getting bowled by a left arm spinner, but not changing his approach, guard or stance.
Looks great when you crack a couple of 4’s but then get bowled the same over and your team keep losing. You will lose your place eventually. But obviously not is SR are your bosses.

It’s now becoming boring and we are an embarrassment to the premier league, the fans and as a club.

And don’t get me started on his love child Jack Stephens. A ****ing disgrace to the club, his team mates and us fans. Should be stripped of the captaincy at a minimum.

Don't mind who we get, just get rid of this fraud. I seriously think any of us could improve our playing style. I think he is seriously impeding our players rather then improving them

Yep, half the current Championship managers would do a better job. Carrick for me though, please.

I’ve been saying this for a while. People kept saying “we can’t sack him unless we have someone decent to take over”. I disagree, just let the U21 coach take over.

Sounds weird to say but I think the most damning thing for Martin tonight wasn't even the sacked in the morning chants or the boos he got at the end.

When your fans are giving Ole's for passes in your own box at 3-1 down in the 47th minute of a match in December then you know your time is up.

Weren't all of SR there tonight? That surely can't have gone unnoticed.

I just don’t think they care if we’re relegated. They’ve decided it’s more costly to risk spending to stay up than take a hit and go down again.

I still don't understand that economic decision ( and I spent my career in finance management). Surely getting rid of Russ and hiring a new manager with a incentive (say £15mm) in total. Makes sense when staying in the prem is circa £100 mm per annum, considering we just blow money on players like no tomorrow, wirh BBDbeing the latest. Bizarre to say the least

They do care. They’re just too incompetent to have worked out how to make it less likely.

Well if they have decided that we are likely down anyway then you are just spending £15m to sack Martin and still go down.

We know how much they love stats and every stat from about a month ago had us down barring a miracle

What the cost is to sack him later on I don’t know, maybe there is some clauses about relegation or something that makes it cheaper later in the season

It does, yes and they have left it too late. Then there is next season and the need to get promoted. No wY do we get promoted with Martin after this car crash, too much scar tissue to remedy

Available managers. Plus Terzic, probably could get Rohl, Coberan from the Championship.
Plenty of options as Tessem said, saints is still a great club and would be a great job for the right manager.

Genuinely, what's the point in getting a new manager in now? We're down, we might as well just stick, go down as the worst PL team ever and in the record books.

And whilst we at it, why bother playing the last 24 games. Or better still let’s kick the ball to opposition attackers in our own area another 20/30 times and make sure that record never gets broken as well. And concede 100+ goals to get that record as well. Any other embarrassing records you fancy?

We were a proud club once upon a time. Now we are an embarrassment and mocked by fans, pundits etc.

Because the damage it does to us for next season.if we carry on like this for another 30 games, our players will be destroyed of any confidence

    Tricky situation.

No manager is going to want to come in now, with no hope of survival and getting a relegation on their cv.

Equally, what would be the point in getting a stopgap for the rest of the season, only to start afresh again in the summer.

Keeping Martin isn't a wise option either.

There's just no appealing options for anyone.
