I have no idea mate. Does anybody? If it is in support of being more inclusive to gay players then good on him. The undertone seems his devout religious views may be part of this. Has he said anything? Morsey, as reported, did not where one as he is a practicing muslim. Again that is press reports.

I am a live and let live guy. I am very open to encouraging everyone, from every walk of life to playing footy. The stats suggest gay folk are underrepresented in football so I think it worthwhile advocating for them to feel welcome. Why would wr not do so? It would be mad to exclude a community from football based on sexuality wouldnt it. Does Morsey not wearing one do that? Does Guehi altering his do that? I dont know, one for the clubs maybe. I just know I would sooner be supportive.

Not sure any of that is relevant to inclusion. Premier league is the pinacle, but grassroots u14 is the reality. We want inclusion at that level too. Premier league players set the narrative, but it filters down. What the rainbow campaign is about is saying we are a sport open to everyone. It does seem to get weopanised, sadly, but it is not the intent. If it is stopped, because a few use it for a different platform, it would be incredibly sad and miss what is a valuable point imo.

I just don't feel I am trying to exclude any gay people from not wearing a rainbow band, or am trying to exclude any black or ethnic people from not taking the knee. Personally I don't see it like that , as I just think of everyone the same. We are all the same so making it an issue that we are different just actually encourages differences between people .

No one is excluded now and they shouldn't be, but I just don't see why we have to bang a drum that doesn't need banging

I guess I just don't see sexuality as something important, it is more a personal thing to do with what preferences you have (innate or otherwise), so I think it's wrong to think about inclusion this way. I realise other people feel different about it and I'm okay with that.

I completely disagree. In its essence it is a person being told to wear something that airs a belief they do not hold due to a difference in upbringing/culture.

Whether he is a ****er or not, which of course he is, doesn't come into it.

I don't like Argentina , Germany or many other countries we were at war with. I would be angry if any of our national players turned their backs on their anthem when played. He did it to the country he was working in and collecting the money . He's a 2 faced rat. I don't care about his poppy stance

That is fair mate. In an ideal world we wouldnt need any campaign to support any different groups of folks. Because we would all see everyone equally. I am not sure that is reality for many though. There has been a fair amount of social media ****e supporting what they see ae Guehi making some sort of stand. That in itself shows society still has these biases and beliefs.

It may be the rainbow laces has run its course. An alternative means to encourage folk into the game may be needed. I do think there is a case for trying to encourage participation and inclusion, because I dont think football is, but once you get to divisive media coverage, and social media celebrating the idea these campaigns are wrong, it is time to reset the conversation perhaps.

That's the problem isn't it. Freedom of speech and of expression works until you find someone who is particularly unpleasant and has particularly abhorrent views.

You can put me firmly in that category, I certainly don't see everyone equally.

Some people are absolutely disgraceful and need to be controlled, monitored and punished if needs be.
