Good Morning. It's Monday 2nd December, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Whites drop to third after inept display Over 7000 travelling Whites fans were left bitterly disappointed after suffering defeat at the hands of Blackburn Rovers on Saturday lunchtime. The only goal of the game came in the 22nd minute when Tanaka clumsily brought down Dolan in the box. Todd Cantwell, a former Daniel Farke protégé converted from 12 yards. Without a 'plan B', Leeds were unable to break down a well organised (and packed) defence, not helped by continually losing the ball in the final third. Regardless of the 300% disparage in wages, Rovers were good value for their win. They may have only had 28% possession, but they were far better organised, more inventive and carved out better openings, rocking the woodwork early on, whilst Gnonto also went close after a mistake by Pears. The loss see's West Yorkshire's finest drop to third place on 35 points, identical to where they were at this point last season. Despite not having to deal with the likes of Leicester City and Ipswich Town, both Sheffield Utd and Burnley are showing consistency levels that will make Leeds fans very wary! please log in to view this image Farke berated over tactics Daniel Farke's tactics were embarrassing at times, packing the left flank like a rugby scrum, trying to inch their way to Rovers penalty area, but instead, constantly getting in each others way. Acres of space would go to waste in other advanced areas making most Leeds attack look disjointed, lop-sided and muddled. In spite of completing almost two and a half times the number of passes, the home side were not being pulled out of position so did not tire. Instead, Rovers were content to match and nullify wave after wave of attack knowing exactly what would happen next. Leeds inability to deal with the 'low block' has cost them their third defeat of the season (all by one-nil margins). Unfortunately, Managerial options are limited at the moment, with both Michael Skubala and Carlos Corberán being touted about - not because either are particularly strong candidates, more so, there is nobody else! please log in to view this image
Sacking Farke now would be madness. It would also be madness not to strengthen in January. We won't do either Morning all
I remember Farke's Norwich the year they pipped us to promotion... the amount of late winner's Teemu Pukki got for them, the amount of wins they got they didn't really deserve. Now he comes to us and the Leeds curse strikes. There is no chance he'll be sacked, nor should he be. It's an emotional game but the level of knee-jerking amongst Leeds fans... a 3 day switch from walking the league to manager out, is crazy. It's frustrating that we concede the first goal (usually a soft one against the run of play) and struggle to break down well organised sides who we've gifted a foothold to. It's frustrating that Burnley and Sheffiled United seem to always get points out of ugly close games and we never do - that's often the case for sides who try to play vesus sides that don't. Those who hate watching us should get a ticket to watch them if they want something to complain about. There'll be plenty of highs and lows between now and the end of the season. Wouldn't be Leedsy any other way would it?
Morning all. Pretty Much agree with milky there. I didn’t see the game but have seen enough poor reports To figure out we were rubbish. We seem to be having two great Performances followed By a dire one. Really hope there’s something to shout about in Saturday. It’ll be bens first time over and no doubt will stick in his memory. Hope it’s for all good reasons
Someone to knock us out ASAP with no injuries so that we can get on with the league. Burnley, Sheff Utd, Middlesbrough and Sunderland to face a series of punishing replays and extra time.
Great draw. Should give our reserves some game time. Liverpool away for Accrington is a great draw too.
Should be fun. I watched the draw, their manager seemed pleased enough. Be good money for the club and won’t have to fork out on travel
Some decent games for the lower league clubs. Tamworth got Spurs. Man City got scum light at home. Hope the TV companies don’t go with the Arsenal v Scum game. How many times do we seem that
