He took a bit of stick from supporters very early on in the season but hasn’t half stepped up of late

Boro go to Burnley on Friday night. What a tough game that is to call…

You all love to talk up other teams on this forum.

Not sure how we can hope to compete with such illustrious contemporaries.

Nothing wrong with respecting other teams and watching more matches than just Sunderland games and then commenting on them

Most still believe we are a top 5 team and on our day we can beat anyone

Yeah agree. Leeds at home are a good team to watch. They seem be inconsistent away form home like. Boro have a canny squad when all fit.

Leeds and Boro are the best teams to watch but I have concerns over their consistency. I know a few Leeds fans, and they are concerned about Farke's ability to get them over the line

Burnley are the ones to watch for me, best squad imo and are rock solid, seem to playing better football now as well

Yeah. They have hit a nice patch and are grinding the results out. Don't seem to concede goals, must be a handful all season!

6 in 18 games. That’s immense at any level

I was a bit drunk and grumpy when posting that but it’s noticeable that there’s a few posters that praise other teams to the hilt and build them up but don’t afford the same positive mindset to the Lads.

I don’t know if it’s some sort of inferiority complex or a way of picking at the club (or if they just don’t watch other teams enough/with the same critical approach) but it’s implied we can’t possibly compete with Leeds and they talk about Boro as though they’re 1970s Brazil reincarnate but yet here we are not far off half way through the season only two points behind Leeds and three ahead of Boro.

The difference is we will watch every lads match, so will see the good the bad the ugly and the great. For some they'll always think worse case when it comes to the lads, doesn't mean they want the worst case to happen but that they think the worse case so not to get ahead of themselves.

I've also noticed that there's people who will slag off other clubs without ever really watching them. I will always praise teams that I enjoy watching, but will 100% praise the lads as much.

When we only watch a handful of other teams games you'll make your mind up on them in those few games, so if you happen to watch their good games you'll speak higher of them than others

It's often easier to make a fair assessment of another team when there's no emotional connection involved

To be clear, you're definitely not one I'm talking about, you always seem fair when it comes to the lads. I probably watch too much of other teams so have seen enough to know that they're all very flawed, we're really not the million miles away that some make out (though I've been consistent in saying I don't think we'll get top two but that's not because Leeds and Boro are amazing).

With most sets of fans I see that emotional connection meaning they are biased in favour of their own team, viewing through rose tinted glasses etc, we're the opposite - neutrals all over the place are singing our praises at the minute then you come on line and it's the opposite from a load of our fans.

100% every team is flawed, don't think anyone has said otherwise tbh

Leeds - drop silly points throughout the year and I'm not convinced their manager can change things in games when it's not going well

Sheff utd - lack creativity as a team and i don't think they have the depth in the forward areas

Burnley - have the depth but lack out and out goalscorers

Boro - inconsistent, brilliant on their day but always go through bad patches with Carrick

Us - brilliant on our day but lack depth in CM (obviously sameh could prove this if he's ever fit) and out wide

Those should be the top 5 teams

All clubs supporters are the same, I go to enough games from other clubs to see that all fanbases are the same. You'll have the ones that think everything is great and we can do wrong, to the ones who think every single club is better than us - and everything in between

It never seizes to amaze me how quickly things change in football.Even though it was early days,a few weeks ago we were top and doing well, boro fans wanted the Manager out, total wrong end of the table and couldn't score, fast-forward to now, only Norwich have scored more goals than Boro, we've dropped off and they're 3 points behind us.

It's like that in most leagues but the championship is just at a different level

All teams have vocal minorities who are never happy ..social media has made it even worse . We can see that our squad isn't balanced but it’s definitely much improved over any of those since we left the PL .

Burnley have arguably the best coach as well. In my opinion anyway. He knows this routine so well now and players seem to play for him.

I think coaches are just as important as players in determining end of season performance. Parker is good, and all the top teams have good ones I think. We seem to have landed on a good one as well, and hopefully as we see return games come round we see tweaks in game plans to propel us even higher.

When you sit and think, the championship is a cracking league to be in, on their day any club can beat another one and most games are super competitive.

It might not have the superstars the premier league has, but it's got some lovely players across various teams.

Its got a lot of potential superstars, that's what I love about it. Most teams have some young player that looks like they could be a PL regular, we obviously have quite a few

Nothing wrong with talking common sense.

On the other hand, people on this forum were calling Boro ****e because they had a few bad results.. even though they were top of the pops on most of the relevant data indicators. It was obvious to see it was only a matter of time before the started picking up results.

Derby take an early lead against Sheff Wed

Think that’ll be 2 sides in mid table
