I don't care what anyone else says we can feckin win this one. Not sure whether to brand this our local Derby game or not. It never feels like a local Derby even if it is currently our closest. Anyway, at least the away fans won't have half a days travel to get there and back. COYG
Plymouth to Bristol by road is approximately 122 miles......to make it sound more local it is only 102 miles as the crow flies.....assuming they aren't blown all over the place in a cross wind. City are very mid-table in 12th place on 22pts.....5pts below a play-off spot and 5pts above us...... there goal difference is minus1 goal......compared with our atrocious record of minus16 goals........will we remember to take a defence with us tomorrow.....at present our away goal difference is 3-23 against.....by far the worst in the division......hopefully from that position there is only one way to go and surely that is up ?......maybe we need a couple of bricklayers to build a wall across our goal.....hoping the Ref doesn't notice of course.
Grimshaw, Mumba, Ogbeta, Houghton, Pleguezuelo, Hardie, Gibson, Randell, Forshaw, Issaka, Palsson. Subs Marosi, Wright, Obafemi, Bundu, Gyabi, Gray, Al Hajj, Sorinola, Roberts. It's being said that Whittaker has his foot in a caste and is out for at least 6 weeks ? Who will get injured today I wonder ?
Six changes for Argyle. In: Ogbeta Gibson Houghton Foreshaw Issaka Hardie Out: Sorinola Szucs - why? Gyabi - why? Bundu Wright Obafemi
I’m a gentleman of (relative) leisure this weekend as she’s off at her Mum’s, so I’ve just watched Watford v QPR. It finished 0-0 but it was far from boring. It could have been far worse for Argyle: QPR had the better of the first half although Watford made changes and bossed the second. Nevertheless. QPR hit the post in the last minute of the 90. A result today would be very nice…….
0-0...H/T That is an accomplishment to get to H/T with a clean sheet.....only one shot for Argyle and that was off target.
You know whats coming next of course. There is going to be a deafening call for Rooney to go now. To be honest I actually don't think it will make a difference anymore. This has to go down as another collapse doesn't it.
4-0...F/T. Twine.....57mins Mehmeti...62 & 70 mins Armstrong...90mins 25 shots against.....12 on target 4 shots for and 2 on target City 66% possession.......Argyle 34% possession 10 goals conceded in two games. Goal difference minus 20.
Very much so. Holding out until half time gave some hope but we’ve collapsed just the same in the end. We’re still two points clear of the drop zone but Portsmouth have 2 games in hand.
I wouldn’t worry too much about the stats Plym. It was always going to look ugly if we’d ground out a result away from home. Results would justify the means. The problem is that we’ve lost anyway - and badly.
There are good omens and bad omens....and unfortunately Rooney is a bad omen.....our away record was dire when we had a full squad.....so there is no excuse because of a weakened squad.....W0.....D2.....L8...GF3.....GA27.....averaging 2.7 goals against per match.
well our away form was not greta last year, we cant blame it all on Rooney. i hear peole saying Robins or Shuey, it wont make a difference.. Keep going with Rooney ... i think .. Hallett has been a very quiet man this season ?
Rooney’s made further comments about the players’ lack of character and desire. It may well be true but a manager can’t say things like that in public and retain the confidence of the dressing room. This is becoming a crisis with public comments like that.
