That's an annoying result. Competitive throughout the match but come away from it with nothing after giving away a stupid penalty. Went for it at the end of the match but nobody took the responsibility of actually shooting at goal.
Decent first half, poor second half. Sloppy penalty to concede and then no answers to unlock the Forest defence. I’m really concerned about squad depth - our substitutes again offering nothing. Crucial two home games coming up.
Fine 1st half, lost our way 2nd. And Delap hardly saw the ball either. Impressed by Chappers and Hutch. On to the next, and 2 home games.
Disappointed not to get something from that,Forest weren't especially better than us. It's a lot to expect some of our younger players to put in consistent performances week in week out at this level. Two very big home games coming up and six points would put us back on track.
That on form was probably the team I would have picked. Fine margins today, like many games this season we're not quite coming out on top, taking our chances and made a couple of stupid mistakes to concede. We need to turn our chances and ascendancy in to wins soon before the season starts to get away from us. Chaplin had a really good first half and so did Hutchinson however there were quite a few times where Chaplin had the ball and Hutchinson couldve got in behind but he stayed deep, couldve been a game for an in form Burns first half as there was space there. Ironically when there wasn't any space we took Hutchinson off. I would've been tempted to bring Burns on early second half for Szmodics as there was space to get in behind and put Hutchinson wide left. I know Szmodics isn't playing in his best position but he needs to start offering more on the ball, he couldn't keep hold of it, he's great in the press and works hard but silly to stick his foot out for the penalty...if the ref didn't give it I don't think VAR would've over turned that decision though, it was pretty soft, not enough contact for the player to go down. I thought positionally Cajuste played well but especially second half lost the ball on too many occasions in good positions. Maybe he was tiring but he looks better than Phillips on current form. Defensively I thought the whole back line was pretty much spot on today, very few mistakes and good decision making. Delap today for me showed where his areas he needs to improve are, didn't show enough movement in and around the box, nor did he try to get in behind enough. We'll really miss Hirst would've been the ideal game to bring him on today. As I said fine margins today but that's been the case against Fulham, Villa, Leicester, Man Utd and Brentford, all those games no one would've blinked if we would've won them given the control and chances we had unfortunately the fine margins aren't going our way either through luck on poor decisions.
Yeah same, thought he looked sharp and even though not the quickest he never looked rushed. Really promising and good to see him in the centre a position I think he's more suited to than on the left. Although no one really making the shirt their own down that side, so could have a chance.
I hate to pick out one player especially but I don't think any player this season hasn't looked like they couldn't make at least some sort of positive contribution at this level except for me H Clarke who looks out of his depth. For me he's never done enough even in League 1 to make that position his own. I've heard rumours his achilles problem is chronic and might explain his struggles.
