Really enjoyed watching Watson tonight. He's got all the attributes a winger needs and I reckon he's got the Grealish trait of winning a huge amount of free kicks. On another day he wins the penalty and Isidor chips a backheel over the keeper.

I think the stats show he's been our most fouled player, he's got the knack for getting ahead of the defender with a burst of pace and shielding the ball. Intelligent player I'd say.

When did we last lose? I honestly can't remember.

We matched sheff utd tonight and lost by 1 goal, if we had scored that penalty we would have gone on to win.

As.i have said, we shouldn't fear any team in the league

Ask any neutral which team played football ...

... Sheff Utd are playing exactly as they did when they were humiliated in the PL.

I'm honestly proud of the team and the club, all this and debt free ... fantastic.

I'm gutted we lost tonight, but so proud that we tried to play proper football, caused them huge problems and deserved at least a point.

As I've posted earlier we had Watson and Rigg on corner duty, 2 academy products that I love watching.

Is it perfect, no its not, is it sustainable? Probably not, is it brilliant to watch yes it is.

I've called the club out for the off the field stuff and apart from away tickets they have delivered, on the field, we have learnt, developed and grown into a lovely team that's a pleasure to watch.

I'm so proud of the effort they put in every game, I can't ask more

no idea what has happened, the squad have suddenly lost thier shooting boots, i think we must top the league for having shots blocked as we just cannot find a way through (on target).

watson looks more assured every game, mepham keeps being solid, roberts has gone into reverse, onien has been in at least five positions recently, neil was looking better but has also gone in reverse...i actually think that over these past few games we have had the best of the play and possibly the most chances but have not really made keepers work and there is one thing that is stickin gin my mind, RLB said he was happy with the way the squad were working and were understanding what he wants so time to move onto the next phase and that is when things began to change, along with the new coach coming in.

we had chances to win each game, we need the lads to get that early season 'freedom' back into thier game because we are still in it and these lads have proved they can match/outplay others in this league.

ref was sh1t mind, i know he 'followed the rules' and he does not have the benefit of replays but i think mepham certainly played for the ball and thier bloke did not.

watson gets my MotM, still raw and too quick to pull the trigger but he is growing with each game.

It's clear we are all hurt and disappointed with the result. Debate is fine but hopefully we don't get too carried away with it and just agree to differ. Some really good performances on the pitch this evening especially in the first half.

This is the reality of the situation.

Are these kids the best way to gain promotion, probably no.

Would it be better to buy older, more experienced, pros to replace them, probably yes.

Is that likely to happen, probably not.

    That's being realistic ...

... expecting it to happen definitely isn't.

You can either get behind what we actually have or continually complain about it and always see the bad side.

Quite right. Alese tried a fancy flick in his own penalty area, Rigg stood and watched Davies walk past him and Patto didn't get down quick enough to a shot which was hit as the player was falling over. Neil definitely not to blame for that.

We've given them a game tonight and if we can get players fit/ suspension free, there's no reason why we can't get 3 points in the reverse fixture on 1st January.

I'd rather watch these lads give everything, see them develop and hope to keep them as long as we can.

Will Jobe and Rigg move onto bigger clubs? Yes they will, but I will enjoy them while they are here and hope they go to the absolute top.

It's bloody exciting and we have the best of both worlds imo, watching young players develop into great players while also being up and around the promotion places

Not too downbeat with that tonight. We were the better side for large parts of the game against a team with much bigger budget than us.
3 games in 6 days is a killer when we are stretched so thin. Thought a few of them looked mentally and physically shattered tonight. Desperately need some bodies back soon and some rest and rotation to take effect. Easier run of games coming, let's get back to winning ways...

    Just me throwing **** at the wall;

I seem to remember set pieces routines at some point this season? Have they gone out the window?

Watson benefitted from our control and style, but also the size of the pitch, by beginning of next season he'll be a very good player at this level, for me

Baffled as to why we've reverted to not thinking Mayenda is a big enough threat to utilise...back to goal he's better, he's strong and quicker, he's a right nuisance.

Rigg - getting Jobe vibes from last season, he's clearly a very clutch player (someone who delivers for the oldies) but he's still growing into his body just like JB was, he's got a lot of growing to do and I think he needs bringing in and out every now and then

Brings me to this - Aleksic - RLB has been very good for us but he has to realise this is the way we do things and Aleksic should have played more by now, to prepare and help Rigg out too

Jobe has been terrific this season - a giant of a player, I'd be absolutely gutted if we didn't get at least about 40 mill for the lad excluding sell on percentages

I think Dan Neil has been better recently, but we've also lowered our level during this period and been less of a threat, I wonder if that's linked? I think he should be free to do more outlandish and creative things, especially with Jobe there to pick up the pieces or even the fullbacks

Roberts for me is a weak link that needs replacing, I'm a bit gutted by how sort of ineffective he has been lately, I think Reg has had a mare not playing Mayenda more these last two games

Its fine margins, you can see how close we've come to still being top, if Isidor's goal stood vs WBA, if Aleksic skies his chance and if Robinson got sent by tackling a bit sooner, we'd probably be sitting pretty at the top.

Mind, it doesn't excuse things, especially when you consider the horror of Cov, QPR and Preston

Correct on both counts. Aleksic has got to be unleashed soon to see what he can do. Him and Rigg interchanging between games is what I expected to see this season. Rigg's early season form has probably deterred RLB from taking him off, but now he's not the player he was earlier this season, so give Aleksic a chance, like he's given Watson., or when Samed is fit, bring him in and move Neil further up the park. Rigg has amazing talent, but he's still very young and needs to be handled lightly.
Roberts needs replacing in January imo.
