Nail bars and tattoo shops are thriving.
Walked by the newest nail bar in town yesterday. It's quite big. It was rammed. Mid-morning.
Good news though, 1 of the 3 bookies that are literally next to each other, is closing.
I struggle to get my head round it all. Funny old world it's become (actually I mean ****ed up world tbh).

In school, we had a choice of one "technology" subject for GSCE. There was quite a range - Electronics, "Resistant Materials" (Woodwork etc), Graphic design, Food tech, Textiles.

I took Graphics, and a few years down the line I had an epiphany and wished i did food, cos unless you go into an adjacent job, the rest of them are basically a waste of ****ing time.

That's why I call it anti-social media. It's where people with nothing to say go to say it.

Thirty five posts deleted, there’s no inconsistency in the moderation, we’re just not able to be on here 24 hours a day deleting everything the minute it appears.

    and that's absolutely fine.
My only issue was my post being singularly, directly called out (not by you OLM) when there'd been 30odd other political posts before it!

I was talking to an accountant he said you'd be surprised at what businesses are busy due to criminal activity to literally wash the money .
Something I never gave any thought to

Just do some simple back of a *** packet calculations to see it doesn't add up. Wether it's a car wash, barber, magazin mixt, or euro market a single worker on minimum wage plus NI and PAYE but as they are open how many hours a day and how many days a week means they need many more than one. Cost of premises, business rates, electricity and other bits and pieces, it just doesn't add up.

There's a vape shop just opened around the corner from me,never anyone in it,it's a very small catchment area so I'm not surprised. The only person I've seen smoking vapes within 50 yards of it is the young Asian kid who sits in it all day twiddling his thumbs...If I can see that, why can't the HMRC?

That's what I don't get either. It's all so damn obvious. Under resourced I guess? But wouldn't putting more resources into it pay for itself many times over ...as well as driving down fraud, crime , etc

Funny you should say that. There used to be a huge Inland Revenue office up in our Town Centre(employed 1500-2000 workers at one point),bulldozed it,built houses on it and moved the staff into Glasgow!!

On the subject of dodgy dealings though,I have heard there's a huge purge on Phoenix Companies.Rachel Reeves has been visiting all major Inland Revenue buildings and pushing the purge big time.I think the Government are losing large amounts of revenue due to the scamming going on...

Vape Shops and Barbers next hopefully.

Back in the day barbers sold 'something for the weekend sir?''

To get with the times, perhaps it should be 'something for your nails or lungs sir?'
