I can’t believe how many illegals there are here. All rapists and murderers too.

Sorry guys for the outburst, but just finished my daily workout and it was strength training with weights. Too much testosterone.

Oh man, there was a post on Twitter yesterday complaining about black news readers and this is supposed to be a white country. It had 18k likes. Mostly from Americans, and several of the racists saying ‘eat it up, the Overton Window is moving’. I realised they really are a cult.

I have just started a new book by David Baldacci, set in Richmond Virginia not long after the assassination of Martin Luther King. It has a similar feel to the book by John Grisham, A Time to Kill, and I can feel my gut twisting when the story relates the obvious racism and bullying of black people that was so prevalent then.
Sadly there are people in all countries that are still in favour of white supremacy, which is why the likes of Farage need to be held accountable for their actions in promoting the fear of immigration.

Minister Louise Haigh quits after fraud offence revealed

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cdxy1kp73y9o

Whitehall sources told the BBC the transport secretary declared her discharge on appointment to the shadow cabinet in 2020, when the Labour Party was in opposition.

Some are questioning why Sir Keir gave her the job when it appears he had been informed of the specifics of this case when Haigh joined his shadow cabinet.

However, it raises questions over the prime minister's judgement in appointing someone with a spent conviction to his cabinet, having previously attacked the Conservatives during Partygate, saying "lawbreakers can't be lawmakers".

So Haigh quits for being a fraud but Rachel (from accounts)Reeves keeps hers.

Love Baldacci. This is a real departure from his normal work, but excellent so far. As you say it shows how far we have come in the last 50 years, but also how far we havent....

Exactly. My dad's been a gardener for 30+ years, he says all the leaves used to be off the tree by Halloween, now he's lucky if they're all down by Christmas. Study the nature around us in the UK, not in the US, and open your eyes!

Another reason to add to why the supposed representive of the people of Clacton on Sea is a slippery treacherous POS. The bit at the 2 min mark - regards the wealth gap - says it all. Excellent work again from LBD.

What that a government minister has to resign because of a previous fraud conviction? A conviction that the PM knew about when he gave her a cabinet position?
Is that all you've got as a reply?

I know it's your job as a labour fan is to dismiss any misdemeanour as trivial but you seem prepared to sacrifice your credibility by overlooking any incompetence/ dishonesty/ double standards by the labour party. In fairness you're not the only left winger on here who's political opinion should be taken with a pinch of salt but you criticise Osvaldorama as if you are better.

Firstly, I didn’t vote Labour, so don’t put words in my mouth. Secondly, the punishment for Louise Haigh’s heinous offence of forgetting to report that she had found her phone was a conditional discharge, the absolute minimum punishment it’s possible for a court to hand down. It’s interesting that you are so exercised about this. Still sore after getting trashed at the General Election? Desperate to find fault with the slightest hint of malfeasance committed by Labour, even though this is hardly Crime of the Century?

As I did with War Criminal Blair’s government, I will hold Starmer’s to account if and when they actually do something wrong. I am not happy about losing my Winter Fuel Payment, but I understand the reasons for it. I think more should be done to help pensioners who only just fail to qualify for Pension Credit (that doesn’t include me). That’s about the only thing I have a concern about so far, although Starmer needs to stop hiding behind Biden regarding the genocide in Gaza and call a spade a spade. No doubt there will be other issues that arise, which I will criticise as and when they do.

In the meantime, stop falling into Os’s trap of treating everyone with a different opinion to your own as part of some unsavoury group.

Looking at other reports it mentions that she reported multiple phones as stolen which seems more likely. It's not impossible but I'd be very surprised if the CJS looked to criminalise a random person for a single event like that. The fact she states her solicitor told her to give a no comment interview strongly backs that up.

No dog in this fight either way.

I don't get the hoo hah about a minor and spent crime from 10 years ago (conviction was 10 years, the actual crime 11.) No idea why she would even need to disclose it now. There must be a lot lot more to it than is being disclosed.

And while the right is making noises about it..........this was an inside job to get rid of her, not a right wing stitch up.

I agree (though It wasn't a conviction or as previously mentioned fraud)
