Can't see anything but a home win, but we have pulled results out the bag the last couple of yrs when we've been expected to get beat A win tonight and then 5 points from those 3 games this week is a good return
It's a good test of RLB tactics, his motivation and the skills of our players. Almost a first benchmark for how we're doing this season.....more than a third through it now , we've had our ups and downs...but, so have the others who we might consider rivals. This match will give us a decent guage of where we're at.
I’m the only person that seems more confident for this it looks like really fancy is to nick this one. Jobe and neil can put in big shifts against their midfield and we can use our pace on the counter if our defence is on their game I fancy us. Hamer plays off the left but inverts which might let us counter down that side with Hume and whoever is on the wing 1-0 win to the lads
I rate Wilder at this level and I think he’ll have them bang up for it. Expecting more of the same from RLB with his usual 2 subs and happy to defend.
Wouldn't disagree......I've thought we can beat anyone with the talent we have......really good test to see where we are.!
There seems to be a bit off a current online and a small few in the ground that are quietly starting to "grumble" about things? Might just be the way i am reading things? We have had a cracking start to the season, its nearly December and we have only just come off the top of the league, competing with Parachute payment cheat code clubs, yes the draws have been frustrating, but in the past 2 seasons i'd suggest we would have lost at least 2 or 3 of those draws. We are incredibly tough to break down, we dont give away many easy chances to any team, we have an array of attacking talents, but its not quite clicking like we all want. If we can keep dragging out draws or tight victories till certain players are back from injury then go again we will be there or thereabouts come the season end imo
They recently lost to Boro and Leeds ... ... they won at home 1-0 to Sheff Wed with their only on target effort. Ha'way Lads, I'm not greedy, 1-0 will do from Isidor.
Thanks again RTB , a well earned round of applause . This is a test of RLB more than the team for me, at the start of the season I thought no matter where we ended up if we could finish above The Boro we would have had a good season, so yesterdays result cheered me up no end. Still on course but we need to win a game soon, and this always looked the toughest of the 3 in the 6 day crush. Personally I would tweak your team a bit and play a 4/1/3/2 line up, fat chance I know, but I would play a back four as you have indicated, in front of them I would give O/9 a sweeper/man marking role against there midfield aided by a 3 of Jobe/Dan/Rigg in front of him, and a front 2 of Mayenda /Isidor ahead of them. I think this team would surprise a lot of people even me. So who knows its a bit of a wild card but then so am I at times. . PS It would also give us a bloody strong bench , but would we use it that's the 64 dollar question. OaU.
That's where he'll go wrong imo. He did the same against Sheff Wed and they were poor, Hamer tried way too hard to impress and the game passed him by, along with a few others. They only had one effort, on target, and I think this will be a tight game. No reason we can't beat them, Boro did.
Belter RTB. I fancy us on Friday, they will come at us which should play into our hands, we play much better against open teams. Can see Cirkin back in there, we miss him bombing on down the left, I think Watson would benefit from having him alongside as well. My son is going down and I wish I was going with him, had some great times in Sheffield over the years. We are still in a good position with some favourable games coming up, I am still optimistic
We often do well against teams I don't expect us to, and not so well against teams I expect us to beat, I'm not worried about this one. We're up at the top of the table for a reason and are very tough to beat. If they play a more open game it might be just the opportunity we've been looking for to score some goals. Interested to see what happens with the CBs assuming O'Nien isn't filling in somewhere, no way does he deserve to be dropped but Ballard is excellent too and gives us the aerial strength. Tough one for Regis, don't know what I'd do myself if DM is off the table.
I'm preparing myself for a defeat, and some Reggie out posts to appear over the road. I'm a right happy bastard me!!
Albion came and defended for a point on Tuesday with very little intention at the other end of the pitch. No reason we can't do the same but we have more ability on the counter than they showed, they're all tough games in this league and this is no different, we've only lost twice and can see us coming home with at least a point...safe travels for those going.HTL.
