After a wait of 18 days, Pompey will finally be back in Championship action when they host Millwall at Fratton Park this evening (7.45pm kick-off).

A combination of the international break and Storm Bert is behind that lengthy gap since a welcome home victory over Preston.

Their next opponents did play at the weekend, however, with a stoppage-time finish from substitute Femi Azeez securing a 1-1 draw with high-flying Sunderland at The Den.

It saw Neil Harris' men extend their unbeaten sequence to eight matches – a run that has included four stalemates and the same number of 1-0 victories.

They are currently sitting eighth in the second tier standings and just a couple of points adrift of the play-off positions.

It has been quite some turnaround since Harris – the Lions' all-time top scorer – returned for his second stint as boss back in February with the club looking in danger of the drop.

This will be the first league meeting between the teams since a certain Harry Kane struck the only goal for the Londoners at Fratton Park in April 2012.

But they did clash on the south coast in the first round of the Carabao Cup back in August, with Millwall again coming out narrowly on top against a much-changed Blues outfit.

    TEAM NEWS
Jacob Farrell (knee), Conor Shaughnessy (calf), Zak Swanson (heel) and Jordan Williams (hamstring) remain sidelined for Pompey.

Ibane Bowat is set to miss the the rest of the season with a serious knee injury, but Colby Bishop could feature after making a suprise appearance from the bench against Preston following his summer heart surgery.

Calum Scanlon (back), Jake Cooper (knee), Adam Mayor (hamstring) and Billy Mitchell (quad) are all out injured for the Lions.

Colby Bishop starts upfront for Pompey, which is great news. No sign of Aussie striker Kusini Yengi in the squad. Young winger Harvey Blair is on the bench, along with Danish striker Elias Sørensen.

At the moment, there is a power cut at Fratton Park, so the floodlights have gone out in a packed stadium!!

There may be a delay in the kick off tonight, with the kick off due in 1 minute. <doh>

Match postponed, despite the fact that the power was reinstated!

Everyone was ready to kick off, so can only presume that Sky Sports were involved in the decision not to start the match, due to a problem with them not being able to show it ?! :steam:
