Hopefully someone with Championship experience. That is critical in my opinion. We don’t have time for more left field managers.
If you are in a results managed role, you will be judged on that, and that alone. Tim's results from day one including pre-season have been a shambles, then again so has been the clubs transfer dealings, so he's not had the best work place support either. I wish the guy well if he's on his way, but from day one unfortunately has never been the right fit, and his style of play being no different from Rosey's begs the question, what did Acun himself know about Tim's playing philosophy? More 'Brain Team' folly? Acun still in my mind has a bag full of credits since taking over ownership, that said if Tim's still here beyond Middlesborough that bag will run dry bl**dy quickly. In my mind given results and performances he has no choice but to hold up his hand, get shut and move on otherwise the prospect of Division 1 will fast loom as inevitable.
Interesting to speculate on who comes in of course, but after Acun sacked a generally popular coach for 'only' coming 7th and not playing the 'right type of football', it's by no means a done deal that some of the names being mentioned here would want to come. Maybe money talks of course, but then again can we offer as much if we're paying off Tim?(And Liam presumably, who signed a 3 year contract almost exactly a year ago - there's a thought). I would far rather we give the job to Andy Dawson in the short term and see how it goes, rather than rush in to another left field appointment who has no idea about what's required in the Championship. I don't think the recruitment has been that bad , except for the lack of striker. Millar and Belloumi looked like very good signings, so been very unlucky there. And can't help thinking that Daws would just change the atmosphere around the place, have the backing of some of the senior players, and unlock the ability of some of the recruits like Kamara, Giles, Burstow, etc who all seem to have suffered a crisis of confidence under Tim.
Re proven Championship managers-its strange that none of the top teams appear to be appointing them. I am struggling to come up with one that has been appointed after a successful run in the Championshiip to one of the top teams in the Premiership (thats in recent times at least). The pedigree seems to be all come with European experience in particular German. It appears we just chose the wrong one.
Ffs Rosies sacking wasn't anything to do with playing styke or finishing 7th, it was all to do with persisting with a ****e keeper.
Typical of this forum posters making random rants which they include you in which has nothing to do with what you have posted.
Sliding doors moment is that if Hamburg get promoted instead of St Pauli we probably end up with Hurzeler. Who is a better manager and coach willing to adapt
Any news surfacing yet from this mornings 'board meeting', (reported by the BBC) which I guess was called to discuss the ****e the club are in. I'd be amazed if there is a forthcoming statement as to the future of TW.
