We are, but we’re below mid table for chance creation and “attacking” stats in general or we were last time I checked. Less chances means you have to be efficient
Would like to be cautious with players returning from injury so will trust RLB to pick the right players from Alese, Cirkin and Ballard. Going to need them all for the next few weeks, and beyond. think we are short of physicality and defensive nous in centre mid. Sometimes we need someone to win second balls and do the dirty stuff. Would like to see L09 occasionally play there, even if it’s just for the odd half an hour when needed. Jobe Neil and L09 to see games out could be a good option. mayenda looked knackered at the end so expect him to be a super sub with roberts back in and hopefully feeling he has a point to prove because I would be happy to see Mayenda back on the right again soon.
Looking at current form everything points to a draw, but we have a few of our main players returning so I am hoping that we get the win. Here's something a bit radical. IF we get the 1st goal lets go seeking the 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th. None of this sitting back sh*te and hoping to hang on. PS, cheers RTB for yet another masterclass in write ups.
Yeah Roberts will probably be back in but Mayenda gave them grief in the first half. Most of the team looked knackered at the end. Watson, Wilson, Rigg, Mepham, Neil, 09, Ballard, Alese Patto was OK
The percentage of ex-players to score against us is less than 13% ... ... Honeyman and Watmore are typical examples of this.
Players need a calming head that knows when to play keep ball and when to go nuts. I've heard we've not taken our chances, but that's just in comparison to the beginning of the season. One chance vs QPR, one vs Preston, a few vs Cov and a few vs Millwall. Second balls inside their half, early goal and a second like Coventry. Then better game management needed.
Ha. I never hold a grudge for long… (well 1 exception on here!) It’s crazy that statistically the chances we score! Yet the 2 or 3 we missed over the last 2 games have cost us 4 points! Mind, I’ve watched the Aleksic one a few times and it’s was purely bad luck! It was through the keepers legs ! Still fancy Wilson scores that but hey ho
Ideally aye! We seem to have gone from one extreme of being unable to take one of the any amount of chances we’d have to taking what few chances we create. Somewhere in the middle would be nice
RLB touched on how we didn’t retain the ball and tried to get forward immediately second half at milwall. Says we gave the ball away far too much absolutely spot on
It's easy to lose sight of what we have managed over the last few games. In effect we have had 4 draws but to put that in perspective 3 of those were away from home and it seems Coventry are improving since Robins was removed. I think we may well be more positive against West Brom and belive the style of football they try to play will make for an interesting game. If Jobe is back that will also solidify the midfield so I will go for a 2-0 win
As we get further into the season the mindset of where we are should breed positivity. I think we should set our stall to go after WBA from minute one. Assert our authority and dominance over them. Balls for glory. We are one of the best teams in this league. Let the team show us that and produce a performance that keeps the moaners quiet. HTL 3 - 0 Wilson 2 and Mayenda 1
It's a sickener that we didn't see the last two games out. We would be 4 points clear. Imo without Jobes red we would 4-6 points better off.
It's all what-ifs and buts though mate. What if Aleksic had tucked that chance away on Saturday, what if Dan hadn't made that reckless tackle at Watford....what if the Leeds goalie hadn't made a once in a career blooper? We have a great young squad, improving week in and week out with the coaching they're getting and,I've said before on here,I don't fear anyone in this league.Every match is a battle, but if we play our football the way we can,we can come out on top. Getting our injured and suspended players back is crucial to us.....our bench on Saturday is testament to that. One of the things which does bother me a bit,is how we have seemed to be a team of two halves for a long time, under various coaches. We seem to be great first half and then sink into a shell in the second,or the other way round.I'd love to understand why that is. Apart from a match like, let's say Oxford, where we dominated from start to finish,it happens a lot.
I saw the highlights of West Brom’s game against Norwich, who’d just lost three on the bounce. They conceded two goals, could’ve been more, and didn’t look too impressive. We have a good chance of three points tonight imo.
