We knocked Chelsea out the league cup, beat Arsenal and went away to a Forest team who were playing out their skins and beat them. That's the facts of the 3 games prior to this, we lost today, but no one knows what will happen in the future cos it hasn't happened yet.

The top and bottom of this is that Newcastle are not as good as we like to think they are and West Ham have better players and are just a much better side than many people think.

Ultimately and I know it's hard or even impossible for some of us, but half of our squad aren't good enough for this league.

    We're a mid table side.

We’d all expect a better performance than today, but football’s a job and sometimes the employees let you down no matter what you tell them.

anyway, I’ve still banked your “I’m giving Howe till the end of the season” commitment - we’ll review then.

in the meantime, it’s a forum, everyone has the right to say whatever they want, I just see an awful lot of up/down wholly dependent on the last result - I’m built different (old!)

You have a habit of picking out the bits you like... we've lost 4 games and are mid table...

We're a mid table side.... that's fine that's where we belong right now.

back from the game and we could have played till midnight and still not scored. 1st half, classic sucker punch goal. 2nd half, we were utter ****.

Howe has a problem and he needs to be ruthless and the problem is midfield. Pick a position for Gordon or Barnes and go with it. Are we going to play Tonali? Can we please have a midfielder or pair of midfielders that take turns being the DM? And for gawd sake buy a pacey right winger that can cross with their right foot.

Also Pope is shadow of the keeper he was before he done his shoulder in. Need a new number 1 in the summer.

Also Kelly can't head a ball and was utter toss.

Newcastle can be relied upon to not grasp opportunities. We had one tonight to push on but yet again we fail against utter **** opposition. If Isak goal wasn't offside, we would have walked this but yet again we conceded 1st.

Pretty convinced this is Howes last season with us, we looked short of ideas, composure and a plan tonight....... We seem to have a motivation issue when playing the so call lesser teams.

Fair points again. I guess I just expected more from Howe. To keep making these games (mistakes) is frustrating.

When do we accent it’s either ok. Or not. We are meant to be progresssing. This was possibly our worst result and performance under his recent tenure.

Are we not allowed to question him. Hes not immortal.

Is he really improving things now. Really. I ask everyone to ask themselves that question. Not blind faith Eddie Howe in but is he really improving things?

Anybody that doesn’t see that game as the most NUFC thing ever is a noob. West Ham cut out every dangerous ball we tried to play. Full credit to them. We looked cold, lethargic and just didn’t start well. Can’t comment on offside as was opposite end of ground. My view I. Penalty was a best Oscar performance nomination could be given but others reckon. It’s stone wall. We lost, they won, they were better team. It happens. Subs were puzzling. We’re still mint, we’ll **** Liverpool up and I’d rather that than West Ham.

It happens. Wasn’t expected, wasn’t wanted, but it’s what makes the PL the competition it is. When the very best teams aren’t on their game the very ****test teams can win. See city/spurs <laugh>

If people would just accept we're not good enough to finish top 6 they'd feel much better.

    Decades away.

We're a mid table side but half our side aren't good enough for this league?

You're getting yourself in a twist here.

Sorry but he was quoting our last 3 games where as you have cherry picked from the full season so far.
So you have picked the 4 games for your own benefit of arguement

The full season is what I'm judging .. I'm not just going to look at the wins .. if I was looking at just the losses I'd say we were a relegation candidate

“…Also Kelly can't head a ball and was utter toss.” - I thought that half the time he had space to bring it down and pass… the looping headers were giveaways

and our set pieces - it was like we practiced them with the WH defenders! <laugh>

West Ham nailed it tonight … as you say, probably due to getting that goal against the run of play, and our general offness afterwards

Oh no we've lost 4 games - Spurs have lost 5 games and are 6th and Man City have lost 3 games and are 2nd

We're 1 point away from 6th, apparently this is "decades" away.
