    Match preview;
    After a frustrating draw at home to Stoke yesterday, where we saw a penalty blazed wide, we now head straight over the Severn Bridge to face a Cardiff side on the brink of the relegation zone. They sit 21st, on 16 points, so still a depressing 5 points above us. Their problem, as with ourselves, has been up front as they have only scored 15 all year. Only we (13) and Swansea (11) have scored less, but somehow Swansea have only conceded 10 so they sit 14th in the table.

    As for us, bottom of the table, rumours the manager is about to walk, and a proven goalscorer who has turned into a disaster with no confidence, who can't even hit the target from the penalty spot. It isn't looking good, and as I've said before, unless the tide turns, we'll be preparing for League One before long. Saturday's draw kept us within two wins of safety, but given we've won one in our first 16 games, two wins looks a big ask at the moment. That said, as Cardiff are also way down there, a win will mean we are definitely much closer to safety so gotta go for it. Another line up with one lonely striker, and no options up front and I'll be very frustrated!

    Cifuentes' pre match comments;
    “The feeling when we don’t get the result but the performance is very good, gives us confidence and faith in what we are doing.

    “When you don’t play really well and you get a good result, it is usually the signal of a very good team but it doesn’t help you in the long term because the way to get results is to play good football and to perform well.”

    Cifuentes also spoke of his role in supporting Žan Celar after the striker missed a penalty against Stoke, leaving him still looking to open his goal-scoring account for the club.

    “It is about man-management and this is one of the biggest parts of my job, and the coaching staff as well,” he said.

    “We have a young guy who has moved to a new country, there is big expectations not only because he is playing for his national team and he comes as one of the goalscorers in the Swiss league, but at the same time because all the strikers when they are signed, everybody expects them to be the solution to all the problems in every team in the world.

    “We are going to try to help him. What we are trying to do is give him support and love, because probably that is what he needs and hopefully that will pay off because he is a quality player.”

    ...COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!

    It’s ****ing relentless.

    Still probably a couple more injuries to spice the selection up. Can’t wait.

    Cheers Dave.

    2 up-front please Marti, for the love of god.

    If only 1 yet again, then go with Lloyd.

    If Celar starts up top alone again , i may just self combust.

    Sneaky 1-0 win with the goal going in off Celar's arse......... no I said that last time and he couldn't hit a barn door from 12 yards......

    Ah well..... God knows what's going to happen Wednesday.....

    The last (and only) time i saw us play in Cardiff, we won :emoticon-0100-smile
    I'll be there again on Wednesday night and i honestly think this could be the moment our season turns. We've been playing well enough but just not been taking our chances - it has to turn for us at some point. Confidence is so low in the squad and i think that's what's holding us back but if we can just squeek out a win, i can see the confidence coming back and a run starting...
    Our time is now! Come on you R's!!

    Enjoy. If you haven’t done the newish ground it’s everything you don’t want a football ground to be. Half-empty forgettable template stadium nonsense.

    A new one for me and can be recycled for the upcoming Oxford game and whenever we next play Oakland Stompers.

    Remember his debut against Brum in the game that Rodney scored a hattrick and he scored, a magical 5-2 win in the days when we used to score goals.....

    Statistically, I am sure that one day we will again win. With each match, we are closer to “that” day.

    Who knows, it might even be Cardiff away! :)
