As much as I rate Ampadu, I actually prefer Tanaka as first choice for the midfield role. I think Rothwell’s also done well, pushing us forward. For me the issue is whether teaming AO up with Ampadu, would make us too defensive. I also thought Amps did well last year in defence. It’s a good problem to have once Amps/Gruev are back in contention.

 

yeh - see your thinking. If all fit we have a bunch of decent options though

 

Gruev only got a start last season when ampadu had to change his position.
