I think there's a lot of over reaction to this IV to be honest. His game analysis is fair enough. We did give them a good go, we did look together as a side, Macca and Downes did completely misread the game state and ship a goal. Is he painting a rosy picture? Hell yeah, 100% but I dont have an issue with what he said or how he said it. He did over react to the ironic cheer and he should know better than to not engage with that. That's his inexperience showing as well. Not sure what difference it will make, 90% of fans want him gone now anyway and are probably loving the fact that they can point to a reason to call him a twat now. I don't see the point to be honest. I watched the ManU Ipswich game straight after and it was complete ****e, less quality than Saints, less entertainment all round. RM may not be the messiah but he's not the worst one we've ever had, hes doing what he can with what he's got. Fans booing and jeering him will be a new low point for the support if it happens. Just don't go.
I'd see it as a high point for the support. We're too placid and forget we can influence things. It's our football club and we need to remember that and make our feelings known. People not turning up is never gonna happen in sufficient enough numbers to have an impact. 'Struggling football team has declining attendances' is hardly headline news. Whereas loud and clear Martin out chants live on Sky can't be ignored and will put pressure on those in charge to act.
I'm driving myself and Libby to Brighton, so during the journey we'll come up with a strategy to get the whole stand singing "Russell Martin, your football is ****".

What a tool. I wanted to be more aggressive but it’ll only end up as a load of *****’s. IMO, his only saving grace was, he’s a nice bloke or comes across that way. However, he’s shown on a few occasions recently he’s getting irritated by media & now us. As far as I’m concerned he’s a nob.

Mate of mine is friends with a German psychiatrist (as all the best ones are) who follows English football avidly. When he heard RM's interview where he takes the blame for some of the mistakes, he called it "sincerity posturing" - which is SO perfect.
