We got to the Premier League in spite of him thanks to the quality of the squad, not because we played one touch in our own box
I know there's a thought that Leicester are in a better way than us, but I don't actually subscribe to the idea that they have a particularly better squad. The Cooper sacking is a bit harsh, but it's going to annoy me who they get in, I suspect.
They might not, but they also have a good chance of being a PL team next year. We have next to no chance
I’ve never subscribed to this “he is a great bloke” theory. Always seemed like an arrogant **** to me who smells his own farts. Obvious he thinks his style of play is some superior way of playing football and he is the smartest guy in the room because of it and gets very defensive and smug when challenged about it. Anyway that’s a sure fire way to alienate the fan base and when you have 4 points after 12 games and the crowd aren’t baying for your blood I would suggest not trying to piss them off is the way to go
Oh yeah if we’d made the change after the Ipswich game then who knows who might have wanted the job then. Looking at the top 3 faves for the Leicester job, RVN, Moyes and Potter I can’t see any of them wanting the Saints job and allegedly we already sounded out two of them weeks ago. Manager markets are volatile and early favourites mean **** all a lot of the time but I think whoever they end up with wouldn’t come here at this point. I have no idea who would tbh with you
I can’t see it. Whoever comes in will probably be with the attitude that the rest of this season is a write off. You would be coming into a club with a poor squad who are very low in confidence. You’ve also got the fact that we still have 26 games left, plenty of time for fans to start getting pissed off if results don’t improve. RVN stock is highest it’s been arguably, a better option will come along. Now if he hasn’t got a job and we are looking in the summer then I can see him maybe being interested
Corberan has been my choice for awhile now. West Brom seem to have fallen away now so he may be interested. But I really can’t stress how important I think it is that there is so long left of the season and we are 99% already relegated. Those names you’ve listed might all be great if they came in next summer but having that long left of this season makes it very possible that they get binned before the end of the season and then you are in 22/23 scenario all over again
Russell Martin is becoming a bit of debacle now. He should never have been given a new contract until he proved himself in the Premier League. Too expensive to sack and Rasmus and Henrik are showing how useless they are because their ability to hire managers looks incompetent now whether they sack Martin or not. Dragan needs to step in and sack them both.
We are in a limbo position thanks to the boards inaction. We are pretty much toast with a manager who really should be gone, but no one PL capable will be interested in us at this point. And we could bring in a manager for the Championship next season, but its too early because the remaining slide to PL relegation will likely taint them with the fans even if there is an uptick in form. So however much I want RM gone, I really don't see what the next step is, this season really is a complete binfire and it needn't have been.
