Might not be relevant. In Turkey if you sponsor a sports team, it is100% deductible from taxes until certain amount. Basically instead of paying to state, you pay to club and have a free advertising.

Since they bought United Biscuits, they would always want to have a presence in UK, still possible to get money from there.

 

They genuinely wanted to rename the MKM 'The McVities Biscuit Bowl' so it doesn't surprise me that they moved on to Fener when they heard the reaction from the club officials lol.
