Not pressure, he’s the manager so he sets the tactics and the players then have to execute them Players have to make decisions on the pitch and Macca and Flynn made really bad ones today that resulted in goals We are losing games to individual errors Worth adding, we played without our best CB today though THB was really good, and our best keeper, by a mile
Maybe you are happy with the state of things. Please kiss the players feet if you think that those errors today were ok. The manager calls the shots, but the players have to be more intelligent than they were. All are culpable. Now stop with your insults, you are no more of a Saints fan than I am.
I think both players and manager are culpable tbh. RM more so because he is the leader, but that first goal was total stupidity from the players as well
I would say Libby gives as much support to our club as anyone, turning up most weeks home and away, and he was saying he wished the atmosphere was better??
Yeah I don't disagree. That's why I made the point that I disagree with Shandy in the context of today. I completely understand why the fanbase are pretty subdued as a whole at the minute and think that's more than reasonable but whatever happened to getting caught up in the moment? Isn't that what football is about? After taking the lead (again, against the best team in the league) I don't think it's unreasonable to expect some support and encouragement when they equalise. When the team are ****e and embarrassing then it's upto the fans to try and retain some pride in the club. I just think we've become an incredibly fair weather fanbase over the past decade. People became spoiled after the back to back European qualifications imo. And this is why I said in the Summer that the away fan move wouldn't improve the atmosphere as the problems run deeper. We simply don't have enough people willing to turn up and sing.
At least you and Tom have accepted partial culpability, I’ll take that But he isn’t responsible for Macca’s distribution and it became less risky 2nd half, clearly following RMs input, though still not good
I think today proved how stupid is was to have Dibling on the bench v Wolves. Another of Martin's many **** ups.
No . I don’t think they will sack him . In fact I firmly believe they have decided to stick with him . Even if ( as seems very very likely ) we get relegated . They will back him to get us straight back up again . Not saying it’s what I want , but that’s what I think will happen .
Yeah he clearly can't play every minute but he should be starting and playing an hour pretty much every week.
I don’t get this though. He may get us back up, but then he’ll do exactly the same thing again as we’re doing this season. I could vaguely understand letting him take us down at this stage, then sacking him.
Just seen a post on another board after their first goal referring to us as Suicidehampton which sums it up well I think. Literally the entire country except Martin and Ankersen can see us playing this way is a complete disaster.
Oh I agree in reality. If we’d lost Everton as well, he would have gone after Wolves. He somehow keeps squeaking along.
I’m thinking that they are trying to get Wilcox replacement in first and let him make the decision on Martin/Martins replacement We’ve all heard about the cost of sacking managers and how they’ve learnt from the last PL season so maybe they have learnt not to let non football people make such a big decision. It is odd that there is so much silence about a new director of football coming in
I thought Carragher was decent today on commentary duty. He was perfectly fair when summarising us. He was impressed with some of our stuff going forwards (picked out Dibling and Fernandes and was impressed by Tall Paul) but couldn't understand the ****ing around at the back.
Unfortunately the first goal was calamitous and totally on the players. Rolling 12 yds was ****ing ridiculous from Macca AND he rolled it to the pressure side of Fernandes so on the half turn all he saw was the Pool player closing him down. Roll it to the open side so he can turn into space. But Downes?? Why the hell would you even atempt to play that ball from the touchline. Just put it out for a fecking corner. Oh my god. That phase was just dumb. No other words.
