This sort of performance has further convinced me that Martin is making a complete dogs dinner of this season. If we can play well against Liverpool (if Ramsdale and Bednarek were available we get something IMO) then why can't we do it against the teams around us? In a way, this is the worst result possible because the club won't sack Martin.
We have the talent in the side to score goals against the best teams. The Fernandes goal was a thing of beauty. Unfortunately, our setup and tactics and moments of incredible stupidity make this the worst Southampton side I have ever seen in nearly 60 years of watching. Martin has to go, I’ve just had enough.
Same story different day. RM will Probably say unlucky not to get a draw, equally you could say we were lucky to get away with losing by one. You make your own, good and bad.
