nice win boys. I wasn't sure what would have been stronger, your really impressive record against city or dr tottenham. Hopefully pep goes full meltdown
I've been critical of Sonny this season, much to DH's displeasure. But I have to say that I thought his performance yesterday was much more like the 'old' Sonny. And that was encapsulated for me in two specifics: that shot and then the run he made after playing a 1-2 with Kulusevski before our 3rd goal. Would be great to see him back at full steam consistently
He had a much more consistent performance but I'm sure I wasn't the only person who noticed that he was totally finished by the hour mark, which is why he was subbed off (although putting Johnson on his weaker side didn't really work tbh). I think we just need to be very careful with how we use him now. Two games a week totally out of the question and against harder opposition we should expect no more than 60-70 mins out of him.
Goes to show that not playing the high line can pay dividends! Every single player deserves plaudits for their performance. Ange deserves credit for the tactical shift to exploit the wings. Now Ange needs to figure out how to beat the teams that don’t play football!
Some great shots of the final goal at the Emptyhad. Your team hasn't lost at home for two years. Where are you, as Delia might say?
Less of the slow slow sideways slow, and more of the fast fast forward pass (whether in transition from defence to attack or camped out in the opposition third) .
