I’m finding it hard to defend him based on the results but what do you expect with this team, change the manager but we’re still stuck with these players.
I say again, they're no world beaters, but with a script they can follow, we have enough in this squad to be safe, however the confusing tactics are ruining any chance of that. Sadly its getting worse and as it does players lose any confidence whatsoever, in the system they're being asked to play and the person who is asking them to play that way.
No one said Allsop cost us promotion, he was absolutely a big reason why we didn’t get into the playoffs though
We seem to stuck in a never ending cycle of Einstein's insanity definition. "Doing the same thing over and over again but, expecting different results" This cycle has been going on for a while now. But, why? It's not all Walter. Every manager since Shotta have had the same drab style that kills all excitement. Is Acun insane? After all it's no coincidence they're all his managers.
I genuinely cant understand how hes not sacked Like acun thinks we will turn it around i guess Also, is he the most unlikeable manager weve ever had? Absolutely zero bond or connection with the fans
I think you're obsessing over historic goal records at the expense of the here and now. Pedro this season for us has shown that he's a decent poacher and good at attacking crosses. He missed a couple yesterday but they weren't as bad as is being made out. On the other side of the equation, Bedia has a decent record but looks crap for us, and Jarvis has a decent goal record in Ireland but he isn't good enough to get on our bench. What all of this shows, to me, is that goal records aren't the be all and end all.
I like this, but you could also play Cult Rosenior bingo: * If he's had a few more games we'd have been in the play offs. * He needed another warm weather training camp to get his message across. * City's best players are out injured. * He was obsessed with playing Allsop. * He needs time to understand the Championship as a manager. * He needs another international break to allow time for the players to understand his system. * The players have let him down. * All of the fans have to support him. * He talked a good post match interview. * City have periods of playing really well. If they can just do it for 90 minutes and score goals, it will click * It's just bad luck * If City scored all their chances, they'd be your uncle (Not to be taken seriously)
He’s unpopular cos we aren’t winning games If he was winning posters would love his brusque manner and no nonsense approach etc etc
Thanks for the response at least. I don't agree though. I'm not obsessing over anything, I'm looking at facts, hard data. And last season + this is not historic. Goal records aren't the be all and end all, especially in cases like a special developing talent like say Delap. But they can give insight and often provide very big clues - that is exactly the case in our current situation - we are absolutely seeing in practice what the goal records of our squad shows - plenty of possession but failure to score anywhere near enough (even more so when Walterball <ha ha> depends on it). We just aren't scoring enough .... and that is exactly what the hard data says will likely happen. We simply don't have goals in our make up, right across the squad, which is utterly ridiculous given the number of incomings & outgoings. Pedro has come up with a couple of nice finishes tbf. He's also missed a lot, including what we'd class as sitters, and he's failed to get on the end of a fair few decent crosses and / or not got into the right place to finish from promises attacks. That's is exactly what we should logically expect, it's what his record over the past 3 years says he will do - fail to score all but a small handful a season. To expect to see anything else from this squad, other than the occasional exception to the norm game, is delusional (for us as fans, for Walter, for Acun & his brain team). Now the veil is lifted (i.e. realising we now have starting 11's likely to manage around 30 a season, with no special emerging talents like a Delap), I simply can't understand how this has been allowed to happen.
When we were winning one nil up recently at home, was it v Pompey? the fans were singing 'Valter, Valter give us a wave'. Just knew this 'I love you all' relationship would end in tears and three years is a long time in football. Remember some saying be careful what you wish for?
All keepers make mistakes and their position means that usually a mistake ends up in a goal, the issue is that's it's fashionable to criticise Allsop
Fast becoming easy to beat now City. That miss in front of us second half yesterday was criminal. Walterball or not every system requires a reliable striker THERE lies the biggest problem. Allam’s GONE.
