Morning all. At Uttoxeter in the 3.10 Carbon King ew @ 25/1 (R4) is carrying a small amount of my pension. The chances of there being any good to soft places in the going at Uttoxeter is nil. It’s been hammering down since the early hours. CK is a course and distance winner on heavy so at that price I’m having a little go. Good luck all.

A couple of very interesting races at Punchestown today.

Firstly the Pertemps Qualifier where Real Steel has fallen to a very attractive hurdles mark of 121. He was last seen winning the Munster National off 132 and 12/1 is still available.

Secondly, the John Durkan Chase looks a real pearler and whilst it seems obvious that Fastorslow will finish in front of Galopin des Champs, the question is whether anything can finish in front of Fastorslow? Whilst he looks friendless in the market I do like the chances of Fact To File. He showed as a novice that he possesses both speed and stamina and this could in fact turn out to be his optimum trip.

Some statement from Fact To File on his first run in open company and a fine run by the 2nd too. Galopin has run a really nice race over a wholly inadequate trip. It will be really interesting to see where the winner goes next - Savills Chase or stick to the intermediate trip.

Real Steel was right up there in the Pertemps qualifier but stumbled on the final bend and lost his chance.
