I just had a look, it happened twice last season, and once was the Leeds game where traore hit the post. So let's disspell this myth. We also scored in 36/46 league games. We were 6th in the league for shots on target. Now we're 19th.
There was a fair few games last season that it took us to deep into the second half for us to get a shot on target, which is exactly what I was refering to in my post.
If you say so. Your initial post was before we had a shot on target and was talking about games where we had none at all. Shift those goal posts though. Again, 6th for shots on target last season, 19th this.
As bad as Walterball has been, nothing served up this year has been as bad as stoke at home last season. We had Ohio, Zaroury, carvahlo, jaden, omur, Morton and seri all play that day and failed to have a shot on target against a team in poor form wallowing just outside the relegation zone.
Yes that was absolutely our worst performance last season, but I'm not sure one terrible game is the hangable offence it's become where with an almost Mandela effect its been extrapolated to represent half a dozen games with a chunk of the supporter base.
Yes it was before we had a shot in target, well done for noticing, I never would have worked that one out. Also well done on knowing what I was talking about more then I did. Absolutely no goal posts shifting. But if you want to spend time on your weekend going through a season worth of games to try and prove a stranger on the internet wrong about something you think he said and ment then be my guest. It says a whole lot more about you then anything else
We only failed to score in ten games, it took less than two minutes to verify. Say it with me "It felt like more than two games but I guess I was wrong."
As good as walterball has been, nothing served up this year has been as good as southampton away last season. We had Ohio, Zaroury, Fabio, Jaden, Omur and Seri all play that day and played a promoted team off the park. See how whataboutism is pointless
It's starting to feel like the aftermath of Bowen & Turbo leaving, and that didn't end well. Yes, we are dominating possession, but not doing much with it. We started to pressurise their back line when Palmer came on, and he was unlucky not to have scored, but we need to do that throughout the game, not with 10 minutes to go. We just don't craft enough clear-cut chances, apart from Slaters ball for Pedro which he should have scored from, we didn't manage to get a ball into a player in a goal scoring position, apart from Palmers near the end, most were just speculative crosses, which were easily defended by them. TW can be as positive as he wants, but each game is more or less the same, lots of possession, and not enough final third action. The game against Wednesday is really a must win, as I can see us getting humped by Boro, who are scoring goals for fun. Surely, if we get beat in both games, Acun has got to swallow his pride and make a change.
