Spurs singing ‘ sacked in the morning’. The effects of losing certain players is being highlighted at Man C. Rodri and De Bruyne make that side tick.
I think your frustration of us not hitting the target today needs to be aimed at the players who missed at least 3 nailed on chances! Tim deserves to go but he can't control those misses today, that has to be on those players
We could be playing a lot better, and the results have been ****e, but if our players take even half the sitters they're fumbling then we'd probably be around mid table comfortably. I'm more concerned with our set pieces personally. People talk about the TW system, but I don't think we've seen it yet. What we've seen so far looks nothing like how he had Hamburg playing. This is either down to TW deliberately not deploying it here in the same manner in an attempt to find a style suitable for Championship football, or because the players we have can't/don't/won't do it. At the end of the day the buck has to stop with the manager - its just the way it is. That being said, I can't point my finger at TW for this run of **** results. The amount of poor decisions the players make and the amount of simple things they **** up is what's doing us over. We show naivety and lack quality in too many key moments, not just with the striker's finishing, but in attacking build up and chance creation too. Even in general build up we do it. Puerta today. We're building sustained pressure, they clear the ball - it falls to a deep Puerta, who passes it sideways, under no pressure, straight to their attacker who sets off full pelt at our last man. **** like this happens every game and immediately undoes all the pressure on the opposition. I point my finger at Walter for the flipside of this - where we concede after fairly minimal amounts of pressure from the opposition. We give them too much space to do what they want to do, and then they break us down quickly, time and time again - OR we make a mistake which costs us a goal. Where I also point my finger at Walter is set pieces. We give free headers away at every set piece. Our throw ins are actually worse than ever - and that's saying something. Our attacking set pieces are also pretty ****, but for me that's more down to individual quality lacking again with things like ball delivery being piss poor 95% of the time. On a side note, how many crosses did Coyle hit straight off the back of the pitch today? 7, 8? For as good as Pandur has been in goal, he needs to start releasing the ****ing ball quicker when he catches it. Puerta was anonymous today, as was Slater other than the moments where we managed to get him on the front foot. Simons played well on the last ditch defensive side of things. I thought Omur was **** today. He's too lightweight and the skills that made up for it seem to have disappeared. Palmer and Longman should be starting the next game. People say they don't know what Palmer brings to the side but we keep 'looking like we're finally having a go' when he comes on. Can't judge Drameh too harshly out of position. Pedro should have scored. Bedia should have scored. Neither did. Kamara looked good. I just wish he'd look up before putting crosses in, because as good as they are, they rarely find our players.
Exactly this. And its been a succession of matches. No wonder he doesn't start Bedia. At least Pedro shows some nous, though passing up opportunities today. It was discussed earlier in the season if not before, that the goals we lost in outgoings in the close season had to be replaced. He didnt/ we didn't and lets say Acuns score was 80/100 for what has done for this club its now hovering negatively. And this from a man who has made his fortune by focusing and surrounding himself with top people. I dont want him to do another question event to appease supporters, he has one way to get them partly back on side. That starts tonight or tomorrow and in January.
What the **** are you talking about? I've just blamed the manager for some of our shortcomings. The zonal ****e has to go for starters, among other things - the goals we're leaking are largely down to him. I also think the players need to share the responsibility though. It's the mistakes they're making which are costing us games just as much as the play style - probably moreso - but as I said, at the end of the day, the buck stops with the manager.
So were you a couple of weeks ago, then he was a clown, then you defended him again and now you’re back to calling him a clown.
I'll make this absolutely crystal clear for you now... I don't point my finger at TW for the recent run of results. With the chances we've created in each game we should have had more points on the board. The 'system' isn't as bad as people are making out as we're creating really good opportunities. However, obviously it isn't working at the moment. The players are making a lot of errors all over the pitch. It's these errors that are costing us better results more than anything else, but ultimately the buck has to stop with the manager - If he can't get a tune out of them, then sooner or later it'll have to be somebody else's turn to try and get them firing. Confidence is clearly at a low at the moment and that's something that also needs to fall at the manager's feet.
**** how he views performance and its importance. The only thing that matters in football is the points. Three points plain and simple. How you achieve it doesn’t really matter when you are in the bottom three. Would he sooner lose than compromise his style of play. If so we have got real problems.
I think those at the club Actually have to take the prospect of relegation seriously Birmingham had more points at this stage last season As did we.. when we went down
This is how I stand with it. Today we were the better team, albeit marginally, and should’ve got at least a point. I think it’s been the same against Oxford, Pompey and Derby. I would’ve bet my mortgage on Pedro scoring that chance that hit the post given he’s actually somewhat a decent finisher. It didn’t go in and once again we are **** out of luck. However, this team needs an injection of confidence from somewhere and fast. We are sleepwalking towards relegation and I’m struggling to see how we get out of it without a shot of adrenaline into the system. To a side note. He needs to play someone with a bit of creativity in the middle. Slater, Simons and Puerta are all very similar. When Palmer came on he looked like he could make something. Alas, his golden boy Mehlem is coming back so we probably stuck with him soon. Our left side is remarkably unbalanced as well. Drameh having zero left foot and Kamara seemingly unwilling to take a man on means we have no threat. Add this to the reluctance of wanting to play through the middle and there’s not a lot more else you can do when we get to the final third.
