Seems like the better the chance the harder Sainz finds it to score. Just get to the edge of the box and hit it
Forson really offers very little defensively, I can see why he’s rarely been used in midfield during this injury crisis
BBC Radio Norfolk stated that NCFC have conceded 2 or more goals in six succesive matches. This hasn’t happened in 17 seasons (I stand corrected)
Second half was a huge improvement. I think we were lucky to get a point though - they were really poor in the final box, given the number of chances created.
There are occasional glimpses of promise, like his one goal but he's not really convincing in or around the box. That could be said of Sargent in his first season, but Josh earned his place with his defensive play. Crnac is unconvincing when he presses, trotting slowly from side to side following the ball. I realise he's only 20, but it's hard to see what we are getting for the £8.5m we're paying for him.
The time to judge an investment is when you sell, not when the ink has just dried on the cheque. Crnac is an intelligent and talented young footballer, who turned down Bundesliga interest to come to us, persuaded by Knapper & Thorup's pitch about where he currently was in his career, what was needed to develop and maximise his undoubted potential, and what Norwich could provide by way of a path to doing so. He must have said to himself "Yes, I've ways to go and these guys genuinely want to help me get there". He's doing fine in the role he's been asked to play in a team which prioritises attacking down the left and feeding balls to Sainz and Sargent. If you look at his profile (e.g. as represented in a radar diagram), he is among the best in the Championship for successful take-ons and carries into the penalty area, and scores well for chance creation and percentage of shots taken which are on target. Where he currently scores least well is in how many progressive passes he receives, how many touches he has in the final third, and how many shots he has -- all three metrics a reflection of just how heavily weighted our attacking play is towards the left side and the Sainz/Sargent combination. Even the goal he scored came from a random deflection, not a pass to him in space.
