I think the players' mentality is largely impacted by instructions from the manager though. I'm not talking about players missing sitters necessarily and more decision making to create chances, but I'm sure the players are exhausted running all over the pitch which doesn't help their composure.
A word of advice Tim, Luton has an airport. Get your arse to the ticket desk and buy a ticket to Germany. And don’t come back.
They’re making mistakes because they’re given such poor instructions, I genuinely think they don’t really know what they’re supposed to be doing, who’s supposed to be where, and doing what. It’s like they’re constantly improvising and having to make it up as they go along instead of working to any sort of organised plan.
We have far too many halves of football when we don’t look like doing anything. Another one passes by without a shot on target. We’re better than this.
City had 60% possession during the 1st half and did **** all with it. Same old, same old. A few of our players just aren't looking up for this game.
Very similar to previous performances, started okay but then fell back into the usual going nowhere mode.
I think the system is just too needlessly complex for them. I like to think I'm pretty well versed in football tactics and even I struggle to work out what the end game is. I'm sure TW knows, but no frigger else does and most poignantly, the players don't either. We're unnecessarily overplaying and the system seems to hinge on the opposition making a mistake, rather than us using our quality to get the ball into dangerous areas. Honestly, playing like this there isn't a team in this league where I think, "yeah we'll beat these". It reminds me of when Sunderland went down, they had a decent squad but they had terrible managers. I think he'll be gone after this, there's no point giving him a transfer window because if we carry on like this, we're ****ed. Either we get a grip and sack this bloke off, or we just keep making excuses and sleepwalk into League One.
A couple of times Pandur has had the ball, and if Puerta took a few steps in-field he'd be an easy ball in acres of space, but he doesn't show for it. We had that earlier in the season with other players, so I'm guess it's by design. If it IS by design, the design is ****ing stupid. As is lumping the ball 50 yards forward at Pedro's head
45 minutes to save Wally's job on 2nd thoughts lets take the 1-0 defeat and get rid of the useless prick Wally Out
No leader in area of the pitch. You'd think the captain might read the riot act but he's more worried about his hair.
I agree. I’ve defended Walter but I conceded a few weeks ago that it just wasn’t working and he needs to go. Players bear a huge chunk of the blame too though. I’m extremely sceptical that even someone like Robins could come in and turn it around quickly. The manager can’t compensate for poor decision-making in every third of the pitch. I knew as soon as they scored, heads would go down and they’d go into their shells. It’s cold, wet and windy. Might as well call the game at half-time now because there will be no response or comeback from this lot.
Players have to take the blame , nobody stops a player running with intent giving and going crossing or passing near their box quickly - Walt can’t change that unless he drops them and puts players on who can
Same old same old. Is Omur really pronounced “oh mo”? hey 64% possession away from home though. Done **** all with it mind.
