Millwall drew their last game at bottom half Stoke City ... ... with 28% possession and one goal attempt in 90 minutes. I'd grudgingly settle for a point but expecting a win by scoring more goals than them, which will probably be two.
Your point on tactics is what I’ve been at for the last two weeks. No players or not well tactically come up with something to stop them scoring. Early goal does us
That’s half the outfield players who started our last game unavailable for this one. Mental. Especially considering our best player is missing both of them.
Although, you could say Ballard and Mayenda would've normally started instead of being on the bench ... ... dunno what that means but I've had a drink to be fair
maybe but it’s more the disruption / turnaround. Half your outfield being unavailable is going to be a stretch / struggle for any club
Not being difficult mate but, so what ... ... the players coming in need to show why they should be starting every week. We're playing a team who are strictly mid-table while we're top of the league. Sorry but I'm just not frightened of Millwall, I bet the 3,000 going down won't be either.
Perhaps they're confused, getting it mixed up and think you're singing about the free vote on assisted dying
think you’re underestimating the team top of the form table personally but I like your optimism anyway. Would love a draw myself.
Nah, come on man, they've had a good run by scraping a few lucky wins but do you honestly believe they'll keep up this run, be promoted or even finish in the top six ... ... if you do them I respect your opinion but, to me, they're no better than Swansea or Derby. Not being rude btw but it's Friday and my boss brought me an expensive bottle of rum back from his holidays
Millwall are not prolific scorers and our defence is more than capable of keeping most teams in this league out. We've done well this season against teams who like to launch it into the box, like Cardiff and Luton. This should be no different, particularly if the Cirkin rumours are wide of the mark. I'd dispense with the wingers for this one and use the wing backs to provide the width. I'd play Alese, Mepham and Ballard at the back. O9 and Cirkin as the wing backs. Move o9 to LWB if Cirkin is unavailable and put Ba in at RWB. Neil Rigg and Ba (if he's not playing RWB) or Aleksic in the middle and go with 2 up top (Mayenda and Isidor) to give us two options to hit and relieve the pressure. I'd be instructing the front 2 to interchange and pull their defence all over the place. We've still got more than enough to worry them. I'm going for a Wilson thunderbolt to take the 3 points home, although I wouldn't be disappointed with a point. Let's just keep the unbeaten run going. HTL!!!
Good post mate. To summarise, they can only score one way ... we can score in a variety of ways. I can't wait for tomorrow, I'm absolutely buzzing for it.
Yeah mate. I hate International breaks, so it's great that we're back to the nitty gritty. I am expecting a change in shape and I'm really interested to see what RLB has conjured up.
Best team we could put out for me, given the circumstances. Dangerous in attack, solid in midfield with O'Nien protecting the defence and Neil and Rigg getting stuck in. Probably a good idea to keep our usual shape as much as possible, personnel changes combined with a different system to accommodate them could be a problem.
I've honestly no idea what this one was for. Were England relegated or promoted, did Wales get into the play-offs or go up automatically, is Harry Kane clocking up record appearances by playing against countries I've never heard of, did the Scottish dignitaries like the hotels they stayed in. Some of our players are so proud to be English they've left bravely left their home country to play in Germany or Spain so they can spread the word. Never mind, at least we have an English manager in Tommy Tucker or whatever he's called. Let's not worry that some of the England players aren't guaranteed starters in that position for their club sides, lets win whatever competition this is we're in and all sing the official England song together. And let's remember that, despite having to squeeze in 46 league games plus cup matches and possibly play-offs through all these international interruptions, all this will be worth it to see England grind their way to the quarter-finals and lose to the first decent side they play. It's coming home to England, Spain and Germany and that's all that matters
Two tough early games for our rivals before we play ... Bristol City v Burnley Coventry City v Sheffield United ... so could go three points clear before Leeds go to Swansea on Sunday. Ha'way!!!
These haven't conceded a goal from open play since the middle of October and only 1 team has created over 1 xG against them. Gonna be tough, but despite all our missing players I think we can at least be solid and stay in the game and try and nick one.
Big ask of the squad this one. Interesting to see how they go. If we win and play well it will give the manager a massive selection problem on Tuesday. Would love to see it.
Patched up squad, plenty lads coming in that will want to stake a claim, club rated them all enough to sign them so let’s see what they’re about when they’re blended with first time players and not a full fringe team 11, worst case scenario a defeat here won’t define the season, play our game and there’s no reason we can’t get a positive result, Ha’way. The. Lads.
