Kieron Evans for Newport, then Joel Colwill got the winner for Cheltenham in the EFL Cup last night. Joel's third for Cheltenham. All against Newport.
Cheltenham not doing too well at all this season and losing at home to Swindon won't help. I hope they're managing to keep morale up otherwise Colwill's loan could do more harm than good. Also, Cheltenham are the only EFL club in the county since FGR were relegated.
Updates on a few of our loaned out players here. And a few we've parted company with permanently. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport...ws/new-fan-favourite-unattached-euro-30212037
Doesn't seem to have gone down too well with the home fans..... Bit of a more polite deja vu of a certain Mr Trundle eh????
Colwill Jnr with an assist for Cheltenham's first today. Unfortunately, after going 0-2 up after 13 mins, they went on to lose 3-2 to MK Don's. ***an-Walcott played in Yorks 0-2 defeat to Forest Green. Forest Green leapfrog York to top the table. Simic has only made 4 appearances for Kortrijk so far. They've played 14 games. Bottom but 1, but in touch with the group ahead of them. Simic wasn't even on the bench last week.
I've finally found a local that actually supports Cheltenham rather than united or Liverpool! He was telling me that most of the fans are really impressed with Colwill and that he's made a real difference to the team.
By the time the contracts of Siopis and Rino are up, he'll be stepping into our squad. In an ideal world, we'd have one or two academy players ready to step up each year.
Yes, he's creating quite a name for himself here in Gloucestershire. The Robins fans that I know are saying they can't believe that they've got him. While we're not sure that he's ready for the Championship, they feel he's at least a top half league one player if not higher. However, I've been told to keep quiet about it as they want to keep him.
